I don't have a Blue Book of Gun Values handy, misplaced it or I'd give you an idea.

Now in my own personal opinion I do like the Cobra better.

By the way around here you have to type real slow for some to understand you.

Forgive me, I thought you were some kind of odd little troll. You started a number of posts, all at the same time. One of them said, in its entirety,
Which One???
which one is worth more the agent or the cobra?
Which didn't make a whole lotta sense...
Welcome! I hope you got your not-so-metaphysical question answered!

I am not going to ask for his forgiveness. He could learn to write more complete sentences as chances are high there aren't many "100%" Colt revolvers anymore. The value of a 98% Agent could easily be higher than a 95% Cobra.

lol......whatever.......i cant help that u 2 dont understand a simple question.....1 that is not that complex.....simply put which 1 is of more value??? easy question right........lol.......i guess some people are slower than others.......oh well......have fun

We can't help that apparently English is is too difficult for you to write competently in. The answer to your simpleminded question is, IT FRICKIN' DEPENDS.

I...almost...fear...that...someone...who...uses...ellipses...so...retardedly....maybe shouldn't own either an Agent or a Cobra. 2...much...of....a...tool.

I withdraw my request for forgiveness, smaller_puppet.
Your question is not only stupid, it reflects your laziness. Your response demonstrates your lack of familiarity with simple, basic internet search functions.

Which Pizza is hotter , the thick crust Sausage or thin crust Mushroom ?

Which car is faster a Chevy or a Pontiac ? :banghead:

Which computer is more powerful a HP or a Dell ? :cuss:

Which tire is softer a Firestone or a Goodyear ? :scrutiny:

Which truck can you put more stuff in the bed, a Nissan or a Toyota ? :uhoh:

Which book has more pages ? :(

Well.... tell me !!!! :fire:

You guys are no help at all.

I have cunsultified my magic 8 ball, circa '67 at midnight. The answer to all these questions is " A DEFINATE MAYBE".......The 8 ball knows all, see's all.

After loosening the ground strap on my tin foil hat (real reynolds wrap, not that cheapo Walmart stuff) The answer is clear...Cobras are big ol' snakes that bite you on the butt an you die. Agents sell you car insurance.

I...almost...fear...that...someone...who...uses...ellipses...so...retardedly....maybe shouldn't own either an Agent or a Cobra. 2...much...of....a...tool.

Whenever I start to get annoyed by someone's bizarre, ellipses-filled grammar (which is usually within the first 3 words), I imagine they're doing a William Shatner impression so that it becomes funny instead of annoying. It usually doesn't help, though.

most of you guys on here are idiots.....that was good question.......not to complex.......oh wait i forgot there a lot of slow people in here........i got the answer i wanted in this post......the cobra is more valueable.......why dont you guys try to pick on something that is valid to pick on b/c you guys have nothing here........have fun.......still cant believe there are that many slow people in here........well i am ending this here and ask you guys to read the orig post.......not that hard......very simple.....btw........i will type the way i want........better than this theskyisfallingandidontknowwhattodo............easier to read this way..........right?????? oh well...........................again.................have..............................fun.. take..................care............bye

THANKS, dfariswheel
ANOTHER SMART ONE HERE......TAKE NOTES....YOU GUYS JUST MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING........HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.........BUT I DONT THINK SO......THIS IS TO COMPLEX FOR YOU TO COMPREHEND

ORIG POST:
I'll try to give you a straight answer.

The Agent and the Cobra are essentially the same gun.
Both are an aluminum framed version of the Colt Detective Special.

In the 1950's, the steel Detective Special and the aluminum Cobra still had the old style long, full grip frame.

The Agent was intended to be a deep concealment, minimal hand gun, but would still shoot the .38 Special.
To enable this, the Agent's grip was shortened to a "stubby" type to keep the size as small as possible.

Later, in the 1960's, Colt changed all their small frame revolvers to the stubby frame as a cost savings.

At this time, the Cobra and the Agent were different only in the markings on the barrel, and the Agent's smaller grips.

Since the two guns were basically exactly alike, the Agent was finally just dropped from the line in 1986.

There are two types of Agent's.
The first type was produced from 1955 to 1972. This model has the exposed ejector rod and the old style "skinny" barrel.

The second type was made from 1972 to 1986. This model has the late style heavy, shrouded barrel.

A First type Agent is worth about $325 or so in 95% condition.
A Second type Agent is worth about $300 in 95%.

A Cobra is worth "about" the same.

There were more Cobra's made than Agent's, but this isn't reflected in the price.

There are three types of Cobra's.
The First was made from 1950 until sometime in the 1960's. This is the version with the long grip and the exposed ejector rod.

The Second type was made from the 60's to 1972. This model has the "stubby" grips frame, and still has the skinny barrel and exposed ejector rod.

The Third type was made from 1972 to the mid-1980's. This model has the new heavy, shrouded barrel.

Bottom line: Although there were fewer Agent's made than Cobra's the actual price is about the same.

Hardly a very impressive thread, until at the end we have actual facts - and the route until they appeared was strained to say the least.

smaller_puppet, your approach is not very condusive to good debate. Now we have answers in print we can close this one, because I cannot see any further useful input.
