I have a cz 452 trainer that I am getting ready to mount a 32 mm objective scope on. I want to leave the iron sights on.

Which rings will work with the cz dovetail and allow the 32 mm scope to just clear the sight?

Any 3/8 inch dovetail mount will work, though the dovetail is actually 11mm.

I have see-thru's on my Trainer and a 3-12x40 on it. Can't remember the brand, but they are steel and very secure. The 40mm objective lens is just high enough to let me use the irons. I use only the iron sights for shooting and I use the scope for spotting. Happy as a clam.

To clear the rear sight & not have to remove it, you're still gonna need high rings.
I have the Special/Trainer also - I mounted a Simmons 22Mag 3-9x32 on it using the Millett Windage Adjustable High rings.
The Millett rings are kind of a pain to mount tho. You need to get the adjustments, from both sides, just right. I just followed the directions & they work fine.
Here's a couple of close-up pics of the CZ452 Special/ 32mm scope/High Rings.

Good luck,

Bruce

most 3/8" rings will not tighten down far enough to grip an 11mm scope dovetail. The exception to this are the millets mentioned above. They work great.

I happen to have a spare set lying round for a CZ452 trainer I no longer own. Shoot me a PM if you're intrested

For the love of all that is holy, please do yourself a favor, and avoid Millett "angle-loc" rings like the plague.

(a) I've had them just up and break in two pieces, and
(b) more importantly, every single friggin time you tighten one of the 4 screws, it changes your point of impact. Given the fact that the windage adjustment is not even needed, you're just buying many many headaches with these rings.

That's my experience, anyhow. I despise them. I've actually thrown in the trash 3 or 4 pairs. :p If they work for CH47gunner, so much the better, and they do work, up until you need to tighten - then it's re-zero time again.

With some brands of rings, you might just barely be able to get away with a "low" designated ring with a 32mm objective (depends on the ring and the thickness of the metal and other materials around the objective bell). A medium would always work. I'd try a low and if that doesn't work, exchange for a medium.

OK but where you gonna get rings that fit an 11mm dovetail. The CZ452 trainer DOES NOT have a 3/8" rail as does the American models.

all a person need do is follow the instructions and they'll work fine

cz452.com rings that fit can also be purchased in europe

eric brooks accessories
and $14 for the trigger kit is the best $ you will ever spend.

As esq stu explained above:

Any 3/8 inch dovetail mount will work, though the dovetail is actually 11mm.

And you can read the instructions all you want, but it still won't change the fact that every time you tighten Millett angle-locs, the POI shifts significantly. Now if you have a vibrationless gun and/or use copious amounts of loctite then you could make this a non-issue. But there is no such thing as a vibrationless gun, so you're looking at locktiting or headaches.

I've heard good things about the Warne 7.3 rimfire rings also the Burris signature rimfire rings. I'm kinda partial to the Warne rings but, I liked the Engraved look of the Milletts. I have them mounted on two .22's and have had NO problems.
The Trainer has the 11mm reciever. The Warne 7.3 rings will fit either 11mm or 13mm recievers but, they are pricey ($30.00?).
You will need to make sure you order the correct reciever size when ordering rings.
Ckeckout http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/ - they have a whole section on the CZ452's. What will fit, specs, all kinds of cool stuff.

And I've tried many other 3/8" rings and none of them will hold on to an 11mm receiver groove. Those cheap see thru's MIGHT work simply because their little more than a bent piece of aluminum that can be overtightened in the center.

I don't know what you do to your guns but I don't have to attend to my scope mounts constantly.

Take it from a lefty shooter who had to buy the "American" model because that's all CZ offers as a left-handed model:

It is a SIN to scope that rifle.

I ordered a scope and the rimfire Warnes today from SWFA, only $19.98. I saw them right at $20 a couple other places, too.
