I am thinking about picking up a CZ 452 with the tangent sights before all the new ones are gone. This will be an iron-sights only rifle.

The question is: Which one?

The full length stock is aesthetically pleasing, but I would worry about scratching it up in the pickup. Then there are some of the LUX's and the military training version.

Any thoughts? Specifically, are there any differences in the triggers among the various models?

Basically you have 2 barrel lengths to choose from. Roughly 24" and 28" choices. The 28" only has one wood option.

The 24" has 2 options. Walnut and beech. I would get the beech version, which should be the trainer model. The only diff between the Lux and trainer is the wood types, I believe.

Buy a 452 and a yodave trigger kit. It will make the sweet, sweeter.:D

I have owned a few different ones. My favorite was the LUX version with fully adjustable sights. I have plans to get another...

I went with the beech stocked trainer version and it's worked out really well. Excellent iron sights. I use it for rabbits and ground squirrel while scouting and woods bumming and have several use dings and scratches on it. A little extra character for a good rifle.

Depending on how guilty you'd feel putting use on the wood, the Lux or the trainer version would fit you fine. The triggers should be the same. I believe the single set trigger comes with a different model, the 453 IIRC.

What he said.

I've got the full stock model and it is a wonderful shooter. I would also like to have an Ultra Lux with its lovely 28" barrel as an irons-only rifle but would prefer walnut over beech but that is currently not an option. It would receive a peep sight post haste.

Look at the ultra lux... longer barrel than regular lux thus a longer sight radius if you are only shooting iron sights. They are only made with a beech stock.

Also, there will be no difference in the triggers between any of the 452s. The 453s will have the set trigger but I am not aware of any iron sight 453s made... I believe all the CZ 453s are American or Varmint style.

i have the cz 452 FS and yes mine has some dings and scratches, but its just not a rifle without some. my next one would be the ultra-lux 28" as others mentioned above.

If you are looking for a 452 Lux you better act quickly.CZ has discontinued the 452 model and the ones on the dealers shelves are the only ones left.
