Model 20 or 38/44 (does this count?)

Probably not for the purposes of this thread since it is not a 357 Magnum. Cool revolver, though, and on my wish my wish list. Unfortunately, not many show up in my parts.

Besides dabbling with 44 Special, I enjoy shooting my 38 Special S&W K-frames alot these days. There is something special about shooting 38 Special in a revolver chambered for 38 Special.

I save my 357 magnum cases for the 357 Magnum guns and my 38 Special cases for my 38 Special guns.:)

I have both:

Dan Wesson 15-2 4" & 6" Vent Heavy barrels.
Dan Wesson 715, 4" & 6" Vent Heavy barrels
Sar sr38 4" black.
S&W 28-2 6".

Dan Wesson 44 6" VH barrel.

It's hard for me to see the .44Mag and .357Mag as an either/or proposition because they seem very different to me and I see them has having very different ideal uses.

I have both, but the 44 hardly gets used at all. With the versatility and bullet selections for .357/38 and .454/45 Colt the 44 is just too "medium" and doesn't do anything the other calibers can't do better.

Just bought my first revolver in Novemeber. A Ruger GP-100 in .38 special/ .357 magnum with 4.25" barrel in stainless steel. It is a beautiful revolver and fun to shoot although I've only had one chance to shoot it due to the weather.

Since a few have felt the need to let us know that they done have a 357 Mag or a 44 Mag, or something else, I thought I would add a couple of choices for them so that they would not feel left out. But remember, only Magnum calibers count.

I have always liked the 357 Magnum. I bought my first one in 1984, a Ruger New Model Blackhawk SS.
It is also the first handgun I loaded for, everything from 110gr JHP to 200gr LWC w/gas checks.
I’ve shot my share of 44 Magnums, but never grew fond of them.
So what do you have in your gun stable today when it comes to 357 & 44 Magnums.
Right now I have:
Ruger NM Blackhawk
Ruger Security Six
Marlin 1894CS
I have single actions and double actions in each as well as a rifle in each. I would suggest that you experience a 357 Magnum double action in something bigger than a Security Six. That is a smaller gun than the originals in that cartridge. You also have an opening for a double action in 44 Magnum. I like my 44 Mag Blackhawk Flat Top, but think the Smith 629 or Ruger Redhawk are better suited to the real deal ammo because of the grips. A Bisley would be next best.

My first NM Blackhawk was stolen in 1990. I replaced it with a S&W Mod.19, which I later sold to a good friend. I also had a Mod. 27 which went to another friend. My father in law had a Mod. 29 that we handloaded for and fired often while he was still with us.
My Security Six has a 2.5 inch barrel and large grips. My neighbor's son told me one day that he had always wanted to shoot a 357 Magnum. He was only 16. I took him shooting with my son the next week and let him shoot my Security Six. On the way home I asked him if he still wanted to shoot a 357 Magnum, His reply was "Not as much as before" and we all laughed. Between the two boys they shot 50 rounds of 357 Mag. and 150 rounds of 38 Spl.

Have several .357’s and only one .44
My first .357 is a Ruger Blackhawk and my one and only .44 is a Smith 629

I have both:

Dan Wesson 15-2 4" & 6" Vent Heavy barrels.
Dan Wesson 715, 4" & 6" Vent Heavy barrels

Dan Wesson 44 6" VH barrel.

Besides my 686, I had a Dan Wesson Model 15 for a brief while, I sold it to afford a .41 Dan Wesson. I'll admit, though, if I was to get back in the market for a .357, it would be a Dan Wesson.

Many .44's and only a few .357's. I mostly own the .357's not because of the cartridge but the guns that chamber it. A few are destined to be rechambered to something else.

BOTH!
357: Ruger Blackhawk, Ruger SP101, Remington 94 lever action
44: Ruger Redhawk

Me thinks a 44 lever action is next.
