Story guns. Just look at the price paid for the so-claimed van Gogh suicide gun. Movie guns come with a story, but it's fictional and people often just buy a gun like the one in the story (ie. Model 29's). If the gun is an actual original piece, it's more coveted. If the story isn't just fiction, it will be more coveted. Even the most highly-crafted luxury guns for the mega-rich don't resell for as much as a good story gun that might only be box-stock.
I realize the way the question was asked was more like, "What guns make a good story gun?" (or have some other reason people will covet them). But my answer is the story makes the gun, not the other way around. But that's not to say that any old gun will work for a good story. Frank Sinatra with a snub-nosed .32 does not a Dirty Harry make.
