My TLE is a game gun, soooo....
1. Bought a C & S innards kit (hammer, sear, disconnector, spring) and sent it to a smith for a SWEEET crisp light trigger job.
2. Bought a metal mainspring housing / flared magwell combo.
3. Pulled out the FLGR and replaced it with a springer GI model.
4. Decided to change the mepro tritium front sight with a fiber optic. They are SWEET.
5. Liked the fiber optic sight, but wanted a thinner one for more precision, so bought a .090 width dawson.
6. Loved the .090 width sight, but took too much material off when installing it, so bought another to replace it and successfully installed er'. lol
7. Decided to change the rear mepro sight with a dawson adjustable. Careful not to remove too much material this time.
8. Bought and installed a STI short trigger for my short fingers.
9. Removed factory rubber grips, replaced with sanded plastic grips with skate tape. Still not satisfied with the grip and am currently working on making grips that provide me with a firmer supporting hand hold on the gun.
10. Swapped out the mag release with my springer ultra compact to fix stuck mag issues.
Next on the list? Maybe a tighter barrel bushing to eke out a little more accuracy.
I never got into souping up cars, but I sure do enjoy tuning and tweaking 1911's.
