Well I have only had my carry permit for a few months so its been cold and ive worn jeans usually and carry a 1911.

Burning the summer on weekends I may just wear shorts with no belt loops and tshirts.

I am going to be looking into buying a new smaller pistol and some type of holster rig for summer carry.

What are some recommendations..

Thanks,
J

Summer is pretty big. The only way you are gonna take it out is with several nukes that will cause a permanent nuclear winter. I don’t know that many companies make holsters for nukes. Probably Uncle Mikes does. They make a holster for just about everything.

OH! I see. OOOPS. :neener:

A P-3AT with the optional belt clip is a good gun. You can get a decent assortment of pocket holsters for it. Get a +1 extension for the one of the mags if you use the belt clip because it's easier to gain control of the gun.

I don't know where you are, but in
Pensacola FL
Mobile Al
and New Orleans La

I CCW a 1911 in a IWB holster in the summer under a T-shirt.

Carrying a firearm every day requires some modification in lifestyle. Ask yourself if THAT day was the day you were going to need your pistol... would you feel comfortable with a .32... (I used to carry the Kel Tec untill I asked myself that question.)

A Kel tec 32, 380 or 9mm
Or a .38 Snubby would be likely choices.

I live in Memphis. We usually get several days over 100 degrees. I may just have to change the way I dress in summer ????

+1, nomad. I did the same thing. Carried a .32, then got in a watermelon busting competition at work. Decided I liked the way a big bore busts 'em all to pieces better than a .32 barely even cracking 'em. Decided I was gonna have to carry something more. Now it's like the 1911 is a part of me. And I'm well prepared for any more felonious watermelons I may meet. :D

I carry a Glock 19 in a Fobus paddle holster year round.

I dress for the weapon, and holster, as opposed to trying to fit the weapon and holster to my dress.

Shorts with a belt and an untucked Polo (type) shirt usually do it for me during summer months. I tend to stick to dark colored solid, and patterned, shirts to reduce shadows. I've never had a problem, even during REALLY hot North Carolina summers.

You can conceal just abut anything as long as you dress for it. Weather should not stop you from carrying a serious handgun. If you carry a 1911 in the winter, you can carry a 1911 in the summer.

Lots of people switch their carry weapons seasonally; in my opinion, it's a mistake. They're simply not willing to do what it takes to conceal a large handgun.

I'll still be carrying my S&W 910S in the same manner as always:

In a bianchi suede IWB holster, OWB, between my waistband and belt, at 4:00 under an untucked button-down type of shirt with a pattern on it.

In a word, STAINLESS. Summer in North Texas, where I am, is hot and humid,
and just a few minutes outside will usually cause you to sweat. And
stainless steel guns resist the corrosion caused by sweat better than most
other finishes.
As for holsters, I wear an owb at about 2:30 on my strong side filled with
an SA micro-compact 1911, and a slightly oversized untucked tee shirt
hides it completely.
