@ s&w 620: you say you owned all tree, so you already parted with the brand new vp9,
might I ask why?
Unless it got lost in some tragic boating accident of course.

My favorite H&K for the range sofar is my P9S, planning on buying a p30 or vp9 to replace my USP9 for home defence.

Not a bad choice by any means but I'm curious why you're replacing the USP9. I have all of them but have my USPf9 set up as my dedicated HD sidearm. No reason why one couldn't use one of the others but why replace the USP you already have.

Just curious is all.:)

No, I still have the VP9.

The USP was nice, but I don't care much for the .40 s&w round. The P30 is a quality gun, but I'm not a huge fan of DA/SA guns and the the trigger was simply poor IMO.

I've always thought HK makes some really well made guns but like a lot of folks I've come to prefer striker fired triggers. The vp9, at least in my experience, is the finest striker fired gun on the market right now. Some like the ppq's trigger more, but I think you're splitting hairs at that point, they're both great. The glocks have a longer track record and a more pronounced reset, if that is a big thing for you. M&P's are a little softer shooting. Haven't shot the P320. But, as a total package, I don't think any of them are quite as nice as the VP9. Others, I'm sure, will disagree.

@ phaedrus:
1: I have realy huge hands, (4.5" across the palm) and I realy like the grip on the p30
2: I like the DA/SA arrangement, with the place of the decocker right under my thumb
3: My USP was one of the very first, with a traditional rifling, and it has earned the right to slow down a little by now.

@ s&w : my only experience with striker fired pistols is with my p7, a very early version, even before the psp designation, and I like this pistol a lot.

The vp9 is not available for sale in europe for now, so I have to wait a bit longer before i can compare p30 eand vp9

P7 Either the M8 or M13 depending on your hand saze and the need, real or otherwise, for the higher capacity.
The P9s is good too, but it really shines in .45

if you're a striker fired person, the VP9 is the only choice.
if you're a hammer fired person, either one will outlast you.
I've shot all 3 at various times. For me personally, there's a reason I own 3 P30's now and none of the others (although a VP9 is on the future purchase list of wants.) The P30 is my Go-To gun though and is part of my Bug Out Bag.

Also, I'm not voting in the poll because in the end, all 3 are fantastic firearms. It would be like trying to choose which of your kids is your favorite. :D

If you prefer hammer fired then it's the p30, if you prefer striker fired its the vp9. If you prefer the good ol usp then that's the choice. The answer is solely up to the operator, and is just an opinion

I am HK-poor compared to some of you... alas... I only have 2, and they're both USPs. Both 9mm. One is a Compact and the other a full size. I've owned the USP Compact since it was introduced in 1996. It has never failed to function, ever. It has the safety and slide lock in the same place as a 1911 (the bulk of my other handguns). For those reasons, I love my USP Compact and carry it often.

I don't know anything about the others so I can't judge - I can only tell you I love the USP line... with one caveat as others have mentioned - the double action kind of sucks. I never shoot it double action however. Carry condition is cocked and locked, like a 1911.

Serial 24-14664, inspector mark KE wich means it was tested in 94 , p7 is from 81, p9s from 79, usp 45 match from 97,
All very enjoyable

I'd have to go with the USP9. I like how it fits my hand, by far the best of any other gun I've owned.
