Found this Colt at a local gun shop today. At first I thought it was an 1860, but after more examining it is 36cal and looks more like the 1862 Police model. Offered to me for a price of $550.00 out the door. It is not a repo and it almost came home with me, still might go back. Also found a Confederate Wish Bone belt buckle $750.00

The proportions make it look to me like an 1861 Navy rather than the smaller 1862 Police.

Thanks MYKEAL, this is why I ask here. Once upon a time I could remember just about everything, now I suffer from the old timers disease ' CRS ' Can't Remember Stuff"

Over all it is in great condition, very tight locks up tight also. Nipples for its age look good, and best I remember all the serial numbers all match. I thought the price was really low but don't want to go and offer more than I need to.

Excellent price i would take a pic of the address and post here so we can see it. the knock offs are different than oe colts

My wife kept begging and talked me into going back to the gun shop. Well its home.. waiting for my son to come over and do some serious photo work and then I will post pictures. I have learned over the years that if you want something don't wait too long because it will be gone. I was walking out the door with the Colt when another man came in with intention of buying it. Gentleman tried to buy it from me in parking lot but this one just had to come home.

Took the new baby out for its tour of Show N Tell today. Don't you just love it when you show one to an owner and in few seconds all the customers are hovering all around. Had several attempted to buy it from me but this one has a home now. Going to build a special display case just for it

If it is 36 caliber, it is an 1861 as has been mentioned. The Pocket Police model had a rebated cylinder and held five shots.

Nice find and nice looking revolver.
