bersa 9mm 13+1 ultra compact

ruger lcp

keltec p-11

taurus pt111 12+1 compact

need a ccw for the winter, all my handguns were lost in a boating/fishing accident this summer.

plan to upgrade to a glock 29/19 after the winter.

I've had and carried the first three.

The first one, the first one costs new about what a used Glock costs so I would get a used Glock first.

The LCP is a good weapon but tiny for a primary weapon. I do still carry this one for deep concealment when I prefer not to carry one of my larger weapons.

The P-11 works fine. 12 rounds in a small package. You would be well defended by it, I was for a few years when it was my EDC.

I've haven't had a PT111 and I don't like Taurus as a brand but the PT111's seem to have a decent reputation. It will be about the same size as the P-11 but it will have a better trigger and sights.

I currently own an LCP, and I used to have a Taurus PT111. I really liked the Taurus, and only got rid of it to "trade up". The taurus is a lot of firepower in a small package and super-reliable. The LCP is small, light, reliable, and relatively accurate. But, at the end of the day, it's still a .380...

the glock 27 or 23 comes out on top for me, just gought a gen 4 gock 23 with night sights

I have a Keltec P-11,..and it is carried pretty often,..you can go pretty well armed with it. I carry with the 12 round mag plus one up the spout,....and a 12 round backup mag.

My everyday everywhere is the P3AT.

P11, as mentioned a lot of firepower in a little package.

Not a fan of .380 or Taurus and never heard of that particular Bersa.

I think the Taurus is a more refined gun and just as well proven as the PF11.
But the PF11 should be easier to have serviced if need be, Both will have horrible resale value tho.

P11. Of the four it is by far the best balance of firepower and concealability. But that is just what I would do personally.

jon, cant get a used glock around my way for a pf11

Not around here either. I said you can get a used Glock for about the price of a new Bersa 9mm, not the P-11.

I carry a Kel-Tek P-11 with a
10 rd mag. I reload my own so I make my own.
split head hollow points , redid the trigger pull
and it works just find for me.

The LCP or Kel-tech would be my first choice. I have several options for CC, but the one that I find with me the most is my LCP. It is "just a .380" but thats better than a 12 guage in the closet.

Don't forget for the KT p-11 the s&w model 59 mag for a backup with 15rounds. Have one for my p-11 and helps with grip for practice also. Hard to compair pistols that wiegh under 15oz to pistol wieghing over 20oz. My everday carry is still my KT pf-9

I guess my first post was a little vague but the P-11 would be my first choice in that group for a primary EDC until I could replace it with a Glock, M&P, XD, etc.......

Get a pocketgun first because it's the most convenient to carry. Better to have an .380 in your pocket than a .357 in the drawer at home.

So the p11 or the lcp(or sig p238, kahr p380, seecamp .380, micro eagle, ect.)

Between the p11 and the lcp I'd go with the ruger, mainly because I'm a snob and kel-tecs feel and look cheap.

If I were in your position, I'd get the Kel-Tec P-11. Right now mine is hidden by the front door for that late night knock or when I'm stepping out for a moment.

I used to have a PT111 until I sold it and bought a Keltec P-11.

I've fired hundreds of 115,124 and 147gr bullets downrange without a hiccup so far.

Another big reason I like it so much is that you can order every and I mean every single part for it on Keltec's online store.

Of those you listed, I'd also go with the KT. I have a PF-9 now, and it goes with me everywhere. The P-11 is easier to shoot than mine is, and carries more rounds. It can double as a home-defense piece as well.
I'm not "hands-on" familiar with the Taurus model. Perhaps I'd change my mind if I was; I have enough confidence in Taurus products.
I have a Bersa Thunder in 380, and it is a great-feeling gun that performs superbly. I'd have every bit of confidence in it in 9x19mm caliber. But, it is heavier by no insignificant margin than the P-11. That may be an issue for many carriers.
If you really want the Glock at some point, double-check and make sure you can't find one within your price range now.. can't hurt.

Here's a different take on it, but I would get the LCP.

You are planning on acquiring the Glock a couple months from now. The LCP would offer a good bit of variety when mixed with the Glock (pocket pistol versus an IWB). The other options you list are too large for me to pocket carry (perhaps you can), and thus would be redundant once I picked up a 19 (as I would carry a Bersa or PT111 the same way as the GLock - IWB).

I went directly from the first one listed, to the second, Just for ease of carry.. the bersa was much lower priced than the glock when I was looking
