Which Production Handgun Would You Want Built in a Different Caliber?

cratz2,

Jim Garthwaite builds those on a custom basis. I shot one of his 9x23 CCO-sized guns and it is awesome. Colt should come out with a factory version, they would sell like hotcakes.

9x23mm

The 9x23 's I've shot were made using Capsian Frame & Slides. Full 5" , CCO both all steel and Lt.Wt. These make GREAT CCWs.

Gotta wonder tho' ...thinking out loud...how would neat to have a K Frame sized 3" RB Revo chambered in 9x23. You think this 9x23 in a JFrame or Det Spl sized snubby would be "punchy"?. Moonclips...umm Say a Model 36 with a 3" bbl , MC with 9x23...

Maybe I best have lunch , more than my stomach is getting stirred up... :)

nothing really new to add, but my choices would be:

Beretta 92/96 in .45ACP
Redhawk in .357 (I know they were made, wish they'd make them again...I have yet to find one for sale)
I also like the idea of a CZ97 in 10mm

What chambering?

I would like a six inch pinned barrel recessed chamber S&W model 19 or 66 with baughman front sight chambered for 32-20 or perhaps a wildcat based on a shortend 32-40 case. Such a revolver would allow ballistics considerably better than the 32 magnum produces. If a wild cat then necking down to 0.308 bullet diameter might be good too.

JohnKsa: They used to make redhawks in 357. I've got a couple of em', awesome guns for pushing things.

Ric: You're right on buddy. I want to see a 3" fixed sight gp100 in 41 mag. myself, as well as a 44 special option.

I've posted this idea at least once before and have been told that I am crazy by a couple of friends but I want a CZ40B chambered in .45 GAP. I'm almost certain that the round is just a trend but converting the 40B to take .45 ACP would essentially require going to a single stack mag and thinning the grip while at the same time expanding the frontstrap to backstrap width. Then, for all intents and purposes, it'd just be a DA 1911. The GAP would be necessary to keep the same basic dimensions.

I like the overall feel and weght of my 40B and would just like a larger diameter bullet to go with it.

Ruger SP-101 in .22 Magnum 7 shot.

S&W M. 60 3" in .22 Magnum (again.)

After ban: AR-180C, with folding stock, and Mil-spec rail on top, and a 180D in 10 mm.

Who had to throw that in.

CZ97 in a single-stack configuration that takes standard 1911 magazines. Or, CZ could just get off their butts and make a 1911-style pistol like SIG and everybody else. Imagine, a DA/SA 1911 with the CZ styling and ergonomics, that takes the standard mags. No one else is competing with ParaOrd in the DA 1911 market.

Come on, guys, this bandwagon rides real smooth!

j-frame snub in .45 ACP! Could this be done? How about if you made it a 4-shot cylinder vs. 5? I'd think a ton of 1911 guys would flock to it as a BUG.

5 & 4 shor revolvers

There have been such things as four shot revolvers in the distant past, but you've pretty much reached the minimum size for caliber with a five shot revolver. Maybe that's why it's been a long time since anybody made a four shot.

An affordable 1911 in .357 Sig.

Almost any quality semi carbine(CX4 or whatever) in .357 Sig.

Some small, quality made .22 auto to replace the out-of-production Walther TPH(like a kel-tec p-22).

Savage should build the scout rifle again, at least long enough for me to get one!:p

Springfield Armory "loaded" full-size in .38 Super, both an all-steel version and a lightweight version...

Springfield Armory "loaded" Champion in .38 Super or 9x19mm, both an all-steel version and a lightweight version...

Springfield Armory "loaded" lightweight compact in .38 Super or 9x19mm

All of the above WITHOUT the ILS, all of the above parkerized and/or anodized black, all of the above with the "Colt"-style front strap and dust cover, all of the above with Novak three-dot night sights.

I'd like a Glock 19/23 chambered for .45ACP in a single stack mag configuration. The 30 and the 36 are too small and the 21 too large.

C'mon Glock wake up.
