I just got a CZ 550 Lux in 9.3x62mm from another member of this forum. It has that Euro style hogsback stock, irons, and the nice 23.6" barrel of the "American" sibling. The rifle came with Leupold rings to replace the really blocky CZ factory rings. This will be my dedicated elk rifle (and moose/caribou if I ever get to AK), and will probably also serve as a backup rifle for deer hunting (my 6.5x55mm CZ 550 American is now the primary for that job).
I'm trying to decide which scope to put on it. I'm thinking the typical 3-9x40 might be too long, and just not really look quite right. Besides, the ballistics of the 9.3 mean that 9x would be essentially wasted. Drop would just get excessive much past 300 yards, so 7x is probably still more than is strictly necessary. I'm open to suggestions for other power levels though.
I'm thinking pretty hard about the Burris 2-7x35 Fullfield II scope for ~$188 shipped from SWFA. That one has the German 3P#4 reticule that just seems appropriate for this rifle given the make and caliber.
But, what do you all think I should get. I might be able to tolerate spending a little more on the scope, but not too much.
