Which Scope?

I was always told that when it came to optics shooting, you can't hit what you can't see ;) Buy the one that gives you the better picture :D

You're talkin' Red Dot sights for handguns, not scopes...
from my very limited experience, I'd go with 4-5 MOA as minimum, or you'll have to crank up the power just to see the daggon thing...
I have one on a Ruger Mkl, and its fun, but makes a serious handgun too "unhandy" for my taste. I'm waiting for something about 1/4" diameter that mounts a hair above the barrel... With a holographic sight picture, thank you very much!:D

Thanks for your input, Swifter - the "scope" I'm looking for will be up from the tube a tad.

BTW - Red Dots are also called Scopes... look them up on the 'net. The Oldfella

Take a look over at rimfirecentral.com....everyone there seems to love the Ultradot mounted with SoLow mounts.

Thanks every one for your responses. I think I will be going with the "Ultra Dot"; a bit expensive, but after couple of days of reading about red dot scopes/sights, and seeing that the do have them in silver, I'm almost convinced that will be my best bet. Regards and best wishes. The Oldfella

I put an UltraDot on my 678GC. Love it and recommend it highly.

If you get a 30MM UltraDot, call Ruger and swap the 1" rings that come with the gun for the 30MM ones. Ruger will charge you $5 for S&H and they'll be in your mailbox in a couple days. The very nice lady on the phone suggested I use the large/longer base for the UltraDot, but I thought the standard one would work fine (it did), so I gave them a credit card and they sent the long base so I could try both. My card was refunded very quickly when I sent the rings and unused base back.

I really like the Ruger mount; I'm able to remove the dot with a Quarter and shoot open sights and then remount the dot and the zero stays nearly dead-nuts (maybe off by a click at 25 yards).
