Which SKS should I get????

Well, my collection of Soviet Rifles is almost done. Only SKS is left.
The question is: which one should I get?
Russian SKS are expensive.
Yugo SKS do not have chrome lined barrel.
Are Chinese Milled Receiver SKS with SCREWED IN barrel ok? They do have chrome lined barrel but I do not know about the quality on the rest of the rifle?
What about Romanian SKS? Are they good quality? Are the barrels chrome lined on those?

The Yugo is the only one that is NOT chrome-lined.
Nice ones are becoming scarce. SOG is out of them completely now. The prices have also gone up, so that they are not that much less than a Russian one now.

I would not buy a Chinese b/c of the whole bayonet legality issue.

Romanian and Albanian are fine, but they seem to be almost as much money as the Russians.

I'm thinking if I buy another one, it will be Russian.

Buy them all!! Lotsa flavors!

Pick of the litter would be the Russian.

Yugos are the most well made (no-chrome not an issue)

Albies are rare

Romie's are a little rare but frequently beat up.

Norincos are not usually collector's items.

Well, my collection of Soviet Rifles is almost done.

You need a Russian SKS if you have a Russian collection. There are subtle differences.

A Romanian would be closest to a Russian though. (yes they have chome lined barrels, only Yugos don't)

Keep looking around. Deals pop up now and then. Get a C&R licence if you don't have one already.
