Hey all, I have been really debating about which gun of mine I want to conceal carry. I have a 4" xd and a 3" sp101. they weigh about the same unloaded, but loaded the sp101 is little lighter. I figure which ever one I choose to use I will either go through Crossbreed or Tucker Leather and it will be IWB. Which do y'all think would be a good combo for a 6 footer at around 230? Thanks in advance.

I would say get a holster for both, good holsters are coming available at better prices recently and why not have options? I have a glock 19 (tad smaller than XD) in a comp-tac M-tac - get the crossbreed - and a 642 in a cheap uncle mikes - tried pocket, but pockets are too small - getting new IWB holster from RKBA, Stephen does great work and is great to deal with. I use a wilderness tactical belt and am 5' 5" 155lbs so there ain't much to work with far as hiding goes. Let us know what you do and how you like the holster(s)!

good idea

See this would be a fantastic idea, however, I have a very limited amount of money. Being a college student whose living off of student loans, it just dosen't seem very sensible. Oh wait I've got an idea maybe I could take another loan out so that I can get both. lol, Probablly should have mentioned that in my original post.

I would say if your XD is 9mm I would go that route. It will be cheaper to shoot and since its your carry gun it should be shot as much as possible. As for the SP101 it will actually be my next purchase. I am limited on funds as well. Its not one gun against another just that since you mentioned finance both holsters will cost the same for either gun. I would carry the one I could afford to shoot.

Having too many bullets has never been an issue. The XD is a good choice. The worst place to try and go cheap is holsters and gun belts. I prefer appendix carry and my ECW is a Glock 17. Check out Dale Fricke holsters and see what you think.

reloading

well, I figure since I do reload for the xd I can go that route, however, I am receiving dies for my sp101, so really I could go either way. I don't plan on using the reloads for my carry ammo with either gun, but I can practice with them. I guess it will just have to come down to which ever I feel the most comfortable/shoot the best with. Thanks for all your help guys.
