"Big blurry thing"?

The frizzen of a flintlock. This is the hinged cover over the priming pan that the flint strikes and opens when it fires, directing a stream of sparks into the pan and igniting the priming charge.

BTW, nice work Oleg, even if your model has to be almost 250 years old now.

That would be the hammer and the frizzen. The frizzen is the part that covers the pan, and is also what the flint hits to produce spark and direct it into the pan.

EDIT: Systema beat me to it with a much clearer response. ;)

I have to say that this one works.

It works well.

It would be nice to see a split pic with the flintlock pic on top, and the woman with a M 10 or M 60 in the lower. Kind of "bind" the images.

BTW, leave the earrings, but in the lower pic, change them to small hoops, or 3-5 piercings and some dark eyeshadow to tie in our "next" generation.

If the gun owners of CA ever mount another effort to get 'shall issue' CCW, this would make a great billboard poster. A large number of single working women just might be swayed to pressure their legislator for an easier means to obtain CCW.

I don't care if she's shooting with her left foot, being right nostril dominant, I don't want her shooting at me, because she looks like she means business, and knows what she's doing.

Great job, Oleg!!
