Who actually wears eye protection?

EVERYONE, ALWAYS wears eyes...on the internet.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone put eyes on to shoot except when required at a range. But I don't shoot on the internet, or at ranges.

Some of you guys just crack me up. Quick to say -- when speaking of guns: "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it" -- but when it comes to your own eyesight, you're mighty cavalier.

Good luck.

[from one who has seen more'n a few Purple Hearts awarded for relatively minor facial wounds from spatter when incoming hit walls guys were a bit too close to ... Wanna risk an eye, too? Yer loss.]

I do. No matter where. I suppose if my EDC comes into play in a defense situation, probably not. Otherwise, every time. I like to see things.

I generally wear eye protection. After seeing a fellow end up with a ruptured case from an M-14 blowing brass particles back into his face, it makes sense. No, it doesn't happen very often, but I value my eyesight more than any other sense. Obviously, if a gun blows up and a chunk of heavy metal comes back at you, you will sustain injuries. But the eye is so easily damaged, it needs the extra protection. You're better off with the eye protection, even though it can feel unnecessary.

I do, pretty much by default though. I wear glasses, and I always get polycarbonate lenses. They don't have the level of protection that safety glasses do, but they do the job.

I've gotten to the point that even if I'm just driving to town I wear tinted safety glasses instead of cheap sunglasses. That way there's always a pair or 2 in the truck no matter what I'm doing.
