I voted No, but with an exception.

Price always matters, most of us buy multiple firearms in a year so every bit of savings helps. But if it's a $100 - $200 difference on a gun that we really want vs. something I'll settle for for that $200 advantage in my pocket, I'll go for the gun I really want. Because in the end, the gun you settle for isn't what you really want. And the gun you really want is the gun you end up buying later anyways.

Buy it once, do it right, regardless of the price difference.

Price always matters.

Doesn't matter if I can afford it now or not, I have learned over the years to wait a bit and let other people run thru the problems of a new gun (or car or golf club, whatever). Gives me a chance to get past the "I want it now" feelings and lets me decide if I really want it or if I'm just falling for the hype.

i pretty much buy what i like. if it costs more, that just means i have to save up longer.
the thing that bothers me is the $100-$300 price difference for the exact same product depending on what shop i'm in

precisely.

I worked long and hard, raised a family, funded my own retirement and "relaxed" at 62. Been "relaxed" for a few years. If I want a particular firearm, I buy it. If I need ammo, I buy it. If I want to practice, I pay for range time.

Better half has same attitude, but enjoys different "things".

It took a long time to arrive here. Not going to waste a minute.
