Who else loves a hard chrome finish?

Am definitely a fan, my old STI Edge .40 never showed many battle scars, same with DVC-L. I was hoping to order a BUL Armory 2011 w/ it but it seems they discontinued it this year on certain models.

I'll have to be the lone naysayer in the thread. Guess I'm just a simple guy; I favor my stainless S&W revolvers, love a couple in bright nickel, enjoy my stainless 1911s. I like matte stainless in certain applications, and there's a couple pistols (a Colt .38 Super and a CZ-75) I love in bright polished stainless. But otherwise, I like blued handguns. Hard chrome just does nothing for me (and I've always been a hard-use handgun kind of guy).
 
I'm not into flashy presentation ,so about the best I do is brushed SS . Two enemies of firearms Rust and the Gubbament of which NONE of mine ever see regardless of finish chosen . When I see those old colt auto's reminds Me of the old gangster and Thin Man series of movies .
Yeah I don't know boss he looks like a 2 bit parlor dude :D
 
Back when there were many more hard chrome options, I had several guns hard chromed. Even many slides on polymer guns. Now, there are many less hard chromers due to government rules.
 
Refer to the Army manual ; If the enemy is in range , so are YOU :) ,No sense letting someone pick you off from a reflective flash :eek:

Black Nitride ,NP3 , everything else is a coating Nitride is a treatment of the metal ,so goes beyond surface .

Uh ok

I carry black polymer pistols. I like the way hard chrome looks on the range and in my gun room.

In my day to day life, I’m driving a bright blue car and walk upright amongst other people for work or recreation. A concealed silver colored gun isn’t a real problem for the way I carry.

In fact, if I do have to draw a gun in my civilian life, I expect any aggressor will then see my gun whether silver colored or not.

Whatever you want to call it, its still inferior to hard chrome for rust and wear issues.

And I think SS is inferior to carbon steel.

To me, a hard chromed, carbon steel gun is the better choice, especially for a hard use gun.
 
I like hard chrome. It's a durable, hard, slick finish for sure. I've had some guns with hard chromed frames, and had a Gold Cup and Hi Power hard chromed back in the day. The Gold Cup is still owned by a family member, and the finish still looks about the same as it did 40+ years ago..
