Who else loves the 1875 Remington?

I know that the Colt SAA is THE iconic revolver, but I've always loved the look and feel of the 1875 Remington. Don't get me wrong, the Colt SAA feels good in the hand, and is extremely well balanced, but there is something about a the slight change in the grip, and the lines of the addition of the steel web under the barrel that just won't let me quit admiring it. Anyone else feel the same? I was just wondering.

I don't have either the 75 or the 90, but I like my 58 with a conversion cylinder. Does that count?

Count me in - the 'sail' and 8" barrel just makes the 1875 look an order of magnitude more pretty/mean than the Colt.

Interestingly, my generally iconoclastic attitude is steering me towards the purchase of something which I otherwise have no need for - that is the Remington 1911. I don't expect it to do anything better that any of my dozen or so others - it just seems right given my affinity for the early Remington revolvers.

I hear you - I've got a Pietta '58 replica that I haven't gotten around to shooting yet. Man, that thing is pretty, though.

Yep. I like the 75 and 90.
I have the Pietta 58 clone in 5.5" and 8" barrel versions. Love them both.
I'm a huge Colt fan, but I also love the Remington revolvers.

I love my 5.5" Pietta 58, accurate, beautiful. Don't have a '75, but have always liked the look. I don't dislike the 73 Colt, though, sort of the standard. Actually, I can't think of a single action I DON'T like. Well, not much on the Smith and Wesson top breaks for looks, but don't know how they handle or shoot.

The most natural point shooter I have is a '51 Navy Pietta, but the Remington shoots rings around it for accuracy.

I like the 58's as well. I thought about a cartridge coversion. Either that or another 75 with the 5-1/2" barrel. I ws always surprised that more SASS guys don't use the 75's. I love em'. Thanks for the replies.

I like the 1875 and Dad's EMF .45Colt is a fine shooter. I like the 1890 better. Although I like the Colt SAA better than both and the 1860/1872 better than all. That is, with regards to comfort, aesthetics and handling. Remington sights tend to be rather miniscule and their factory grips overly thick.

The only two single actions I own are a 75 and a 90. Wouldn't trade either one for love or money. I dug deep before purchasing the first one (75), and the interbabble would indicate they frequently break a ruther important spring. I haven't had mine break yet (knock on wood), and I would whole heartedly rate them as money well spent.

I even purchased through Taylors (I think) the .45ACP cylinder. It does not receive much use, but I have one anyway.
