I have both a UBERTI 4 3/4 IN. COLT clone and a UBERTI Remington 1890 with 5 in. barrel. The feel of a firearm in your hand is an individual thing. A couple of observations though : 1. the Remington has a shorter cylinder, if you seat your bullets out , they may work in your 1873 but be too long for your 1890, REGULAR SEATING SEEMS TO BE FINE. 2. the hammer on a 1890 seems smaller than a 1873 colt. 3. the grip seems a slight bit smaller and to be a little longer in reach on a 1890 than a 1873 colt, for me it makes thumbing the smaller hammer easier. 4. 1890's fit in colt holsters of the same or similar barrel lengths. 5. everyone has a Colt or copy , not as many have Remington or copies. I am quite happy with my UBERTI 1890 copy. But you are the one who has to be happy with what you get, so when you go to the gun shop try the feel of both, if you get a chance to shoot both so much the better. GOOD LUCK.
