Who Has Noticed that Red Jacket can't shoot

Survivor, Big Brother, Sons of Guns, that show about the ugly girl Nookie and any show in the reality category are on my blocked list.

"reality TV"

I gave up on ALL those shows as they are reality tv and that means NO sense of reality.

They over act and for men & women with guns, they are WAY to sensitive and angry.

I would refuse to be around any that acted in such a manner ,especially with guns.

And yes that includes all the "reality" gun shows.

In the last new show didn' they kick butt in the "father/son" three-gun shoot off against Hornady and Brownell? Why yes, yes they did.

What gets me is that everyone on all those shows flinches like a bunch of girl scouts. They all squeeze their eyes shut and then slap the trigger. Who needs targets?
I've seen a far higher percentage of girl scouts on ranges with excellent trigger control than grown men.

The 3-gun episode showed they can shoot. Be glad it is a pro gun tv show and not anti-gun.

if this show is on discovery it cant be all that bad .and nowadays any show promoting shooting sports to thepublic is a good thing

I think the worst thing about this show is i think its giving ideas to psychos & idiots who have little grasp on reality to make full auto guns & blow things up.

About that..... Did anyone else notice at the end when they were tallying up the points...

If I recall correctly, RJ hit 2 civilians and missed 6 targets, more penalties than both teams....but somehow the time added to their final score was 28 seconds and it was in the 30s for the other teams....

How do they get more penalties but get less time??

Something doesn't add up

I have to say that I do not understand how so many seem to feel that these shows are "good" for the pro-gun movement. These idiots portray exactly the kind of image the Brady bunch likes to use to brainwash the masses about irresponsible gun owners/users. Television has become one of the human race's most powerful tools to get people to believe just about anything. If it weren't for my wife I would not have a TV in my house.

I stopped watching it after the Navy "SEAL" episode when it became obvious the show is fake and rigged. I mean really the Nazy seals come to RJ for automatic small caliber gun for mounting on a boat.......hello that's what the M249 is for and they come up with dual M16s with beta mags common what a joke not to mention the "SEAL" officer that came in was this fat outa shape guy maybe he was a SEAL back in the day and let him self go but I doubt he was still one with that potbelly and a jacked up uniform. That was a deal breaker for me after that episode I deleted it off my DVR to record all episodes and haven't watched since.

I'll keep watching it for two reasons:
(1) My wife demands to watch a 'gun show' with me for a change!
(2) I'm still waiting for Honey Boo Boo to walk in the RJ shop for a Saiga conversion.
.

Frogo... all you need to know is people other than gunies like us watch these TV shows and see that guns are not all evil, celebrities, women and children and regular people use them not just soldiers and gang bangers.

I love these shows even though I do not watch them because I hear people at work, my kids and other people who do not yet own guns talking about these shows and how cool the guns are.

Anyone who wishes these shows gone is a simpleton. We need supporters and it is these shows that get the sheep to watch.

I'm not so sure about that.

Drail's argument above seems pretty well-reasoned to me. My experiences in gun culture have been a pretty good cross section of some of society's best. Yeah, I've run into idiots too. And based on my experience, these gun shows seem to play off the redneck idiot stereotype. In my own personal facebook friends list, and among the shooters in my circle of friends, I can name 30 people that I would much rather have as ambassadors for gun culture than these guys.

Careful with sweeping insults. It may say more about you and with whom you surround yourself than you may realize.

I watch both shows sporadically, and though I think they're largely pretty stupid, there's a little entertainment value, I guess. The big boss,Will, is an abrasive, egomaniacal jerk that often gets on my nerves. The daughter on Sons of Guns is particularly....um....."distracting":D.
Something I've noticed is that they never,EVER mention anything political or concerning the 2nd and the right to keep and bear ( at least that I've seen.)
No doubt the producers are behind that. They don't mind sucking up to an audience that will get them some ratings, but they don't want anyone making any compelling arguments and winning any hearts or minds.

So we've gone from their ability to shoot to just plain snobbery.
I think they do a good job portraying to the masses that normal people deal with guns.. using them, buying them, working on them etc. Drama sells also.. ooh, they got married, ooh, he quit! etc.
Sure beats the masses being fed only grim-faced high-speed-low-drag types hammering a target all day long. Ooh, the drama.. he hit the target! again and again.. ooh!

They can't research either...

6.5 Japanese impossible to find
- Then why do 2 of my local LGS's seem to be able to find and stock new 6.5 Japanese ammo?

.303 British is hard to find
- Then why does every LGS and sporting goods store within 100 miles of me not only carry it, but usually in several different brands and bullet weights?
