Every single anonymous American who takes it seriously and owns a gun for their defense and the defense of their families. Its not the big shots. It's the real everyday people.
The arsenal of Liberty isn't in the barracks, it's in our closets.
If it weren't there, all those names (and you've missed many: Randy Barnett, David Kopel, Dave Hardy, Alex Kozinski, Janice Rodger Brown, just off the top of my Head...) would just be toothless voices in the breeze, soon to be forgotten.
yeah, I think we're the champions of the 2a, but failing that I would say Ron Paul and also the guy who owns Barett (his not selling to cali makes me smile)
I know that the NRA isn't exactly hailed as the savior of gun rights by most on here, but it IS the 800- lb. gorilla in the room. A LOT more anti- gun legislation would be passed if the NRA weren't there to direct grassroots attention and funds against the bills. They might be perceived as sell- outs every once in a while, but they do more good than harm. They are the most effective organization in the "gun lobby", if you will.
Actually, our 2A problems are primarily social. If the bulk of our society had a robust abiding belief in the value of an armed citizenry, the anti gun ideologues wouln't have got any traction or progress in the last 70 years.
I almost forgot Senator Larry Craig of Idaho for our list.
You can thank him for the masterful job he did in the Senate ensuring that the AWB died on schedule, and stayed dead.
Phillip Van Cleave and the VCDL. I bet every LEO in Virginia hates and fears that guy.
Robert Levy is a close 2nd. Hopefully the decision goes our way.
Wayne LaPierre I guess is #3, but, as much as I like the NRA (and I'm a member), it seems everything they publish has this crazy, alarmist tone to it. I dunno, maybe my THR hat is on too tight.
Despite considerable pressure from both national and state directions, he continues to work for a smaller and less expensive Federal government. One that has a much more limited mandate. Less gun control fits right in there. He has always been A++ rated by the NRA and GOA.
Mitt Romney a Hunter?? That was just another one of his lies. A check of hunting permits in every state came up "Zero". He is and was in favor the Clinton A-Rifle Gun Ban.
Don't forget he was Gov. of the most "Left Wing State" in the nation.
