I have been sorting lots of range brass by hand.
Troy found the plastic pistol sorting pans from Midway for $41.99.
They have the 380acp plate for $7.99
I will be ordering these tomorrow to speed things up a little.
Any one use these?
Anything out there different that is cost effective and reliable?

+1 here...don't overfill the pan or you won't get the fall through you are looking for. 380/9x18 doesn't always make it through the 9mm one either...make sure you inspect them if you are getting any in your brass.

It should make sorting the brass alot faster then doing it by hand. Do any of you guys have the 380acp plate

I have the .380 plate.i use it in the .45 sorter, Had to debur the edges by hand. Not perfect but works with some coaxing.

^^^^^ What he said.

I use mine A LOT. The yellow one filters out 45 and larger. I also use the 380 plate in the yellow pan. Only throw a handful of cases in at a time when separating 380 from 9mm, or the plate will clog up with 9mm.

The blue filters out 40 and larger, and catches the 38/357 by the rims. I installed bolts in mine, to act as feet, so that 357 cases would stand high when I rested the tray on the bench top.

I have had one and use it since it first came out. It was only $25 or so back then

Almost the best thing since sliced bread!:)
I used to sort buckets of range brass, it was not worth the effort when the price of scrap ammo brass went down to nothing around here.
Just use my own marked brass now

As mentioned do not overfill it.Especially the 380 plate.

I guess I am a Neanderthal, because I just sort my range brass by hand; the hard way.

I have sorted well over 1,500 pounds of brass in the last eight months. The Neanderthal method takes way to long. It does work but with large amounts of brass all you extra time is in separating the cases

When I end up with a pile of range brass it is usually less than a 5 gallon bucket at a time. I also sort it out by hand. That is my first inspection of it, at the same time for culling bad and seperating by headstamp if needed. Guess I am lucky that I do not have more to process. That and I am retired makes it easier on me.

I bought one this past year. A great time saver. I recently added the 380 plate, those little rascals sneak past my eyes and are a PITA when I'm feeding a progressive press.

I was kind of busy today and didn't get a chance to order it.
Troy sent me the link to Midway for it.
$41.99 for the sorting pans
$21.99 for thr 380acp adaptor plate.

I will see what the shipping is tomorrow morning.

It's amazing how much used brass that is out there. I will be picking up some more range brass next week or the week after.
It will be nice when the reloading supplies come back so I can start cranking out our plinking ammo in high volume.

I built this out of stuff I had, I did have to buy the two gears to counter rotate the shafts. It will sort 38 super from 9mm and 380 due to tight tolerance on the shafts.

Will sort a 5 gallon bucket in 15 minutes.

Soooo, Can we all just send you brass and you will sort it for us?:) Plus free shipping?
