For me, it is purchasing convenience.

For the past couple years, I have bought from Missouri Bullet Company and have been pleased with the bullets and service.

So I just bought 1k starline brass and looking to either do cast or buy my bullets. I have 200 lbs of lead waiting to be molded. Its for a 40sw. I have a dillon rl550b. Whats your thoughts? Should I buy the bullets or just get into casting my own? If casting whats a decent setup and bullet type for all around plinking maybe home defence if needed or for that racoon on the hay loft etc. Is for a xd40

Don't take this the wrong way, why does a LEO get a discount ? I really am curious, I can certainly understand a volume discount but a LEO is really just a workin man like everybody else and it's a hobby for him to. Some LEOs get paid pretty well, how about a cranky old guy discount.

I agree 100 percent then some, most even have better benefits than the rest of us. O top of that I have issues with any of them or others in uniform being called heroes across the board. Unless they do something heroic- or over and above the term is way overused and applied where it often has no legitimate reason to be applied,

Plenty of other Americans perform dangerous jobs with long thankless hours away from family etc. I am not a hater but they are no MORE or LESS important than the rest of us ... in general. That is the fact!

I have used mastercast and Penn bullets with good results

I'm in the "Me" camp :)

But I understand not wanting to do it yourself. You eventually will end up wanting custom molds which aren't cheap. You will want more equipment to speed up the sizing process which isn't cheap. You will want a master caster and if you do take the plunge that means all new mold purchases. And when you find out you can automate it for a few hundred you will want to do that as well. And then there is the shrinking lead supply.

Casting eats up more of my time then reloading. But I thoroughly enjoy it. If you don't have the time then there's nothing wrong with purchasing cast bullets.
