Who likes finger grooves on their Pistols and Rifles pistol grips?

I like them fine, if they are done sanely, and not too "deep". I like the looks of them.

I disliked the groove on a Gloci 19. However, the one on a gen 4 G17 fit me just fine.

I've never liked them but it could be because I have very small hands and rather than have the grooves spacing apart single digits I have multiple digits between the grooves which can be uncomfortable. I feel my fingers get pinched by the grooves. I do not like them on my AR rifles for sure and have gone to BCM straight grips which are a lot more comfortable.

I wonder if many people with smaller hands do not like finger grooves while those with larger hands do?

I just bought a Smith and Wesson 629 Mountain Gun in .44 mag which will have some pretty stout recoil.

I want to order some new Hogue Tamer grips for it but am debating whether to get standard with finger grooves or non-finger grooves, which one would be better to reduce recoil?

I supposed if they naturally fit my smallish hands and I did have to take time to "acquire the grooves" it would be OK. I have no handguns like this currently.
