Sorry I don't know of a shop in your area that stocks them. Not a lot of places try to deal in them as they had rather sell new guns for the most part. Some of the major distributors like SOG or CDNN have them from time to time, check with your friendliest dealer and see if they will let you see these distributor catalogs, or check with the distributor yourself (contact info is online) and see if they have any agency guns available. You will have to get your dealer to handle the transfer for you if you locate the gun you want.
Also keep an eye on the forum swap shop for long guns at http://www.thehighroad.org/forumdisplay.php?f=38 . The online gun auction sites list them from time to time as well. Again you will need a dealer to do the transfer.
Last batch of trade-ins I heard about was at a place in Arkansas, but they were going fast. You can drop 'em an email and see if they still have any- http://www.molyresin.com/contact.asp .
Seems agencies are increasingly refurbishing their 870s and not trading them in so much any more. It's a testament to 870 durability but doesn't help those of us looking for a good used working shotgun at a good price.
...of trade in 870s from the Arkansas State Police. I personally picked up two, as did lots of my buddies. Some had Speedfeed stocks, other wood. Some had extended mag tubes. Some in good shape, some in not-so-good shape.
I paid just over $225 for a used Sacramento PD Wingmaster. Finish was worn badly from a lot of time in the rack, but the mechanics were top notch and the stock and forearm were brand new.
Of course, it became a money pit for other goodies as I turned into a HD gun, but that's another story for another day.
bosshoff, a shop owned by a friend of mine just got in about 250 police trade-ins. To be honest, I'm not sure if they were all pistols, or if they had some shotguns in the mix.
The shop is here in Milwaukee, so it would be a long distance call for you. If you want me to check it out, just PM me and I'll find out what they've gotten in.
I find police trade in shotguns to be either quite beat up but usually just mechanically and not that much of a bargain as opposed to a new Rem 870 or especially a Mossberg 500.
If you are looking for an out of production model like a S&W 3000 though or just like PD marked guns though go for it.
