Very interesting article but the author indicates that the damage comes from the blast and not the recoil. I used to go home with a headache when I shot my Marlin 1895 SBL doing load development. I would shoot 25 to 30 rounds prone in a session and it made for a tough day. I much prefer shooting rifles with suppressors attached, and if I were to buy an AW50 or AX50 I would add a suppressor for sure.
