Why are all manufacturers of model 700 SA stocks back ordered a year?

I challenge anyone to find a 'high end' stock from H-S, McMillan, or B&C readily available to ship....you can't even find one with a factory sized barrel channel! What's going on? Any links or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Uh...work on your search skills. Stocky's Stocks and Brownells both have lots of Rem 700 SA B&C Medalist sportier and tactical stocks.

HS and B&C are not high end.

McMillan and most other high end makers custom build only after you place an order to your specs. Wait is 3-4 months on the ones I've ordered. McMillan requires a deposit and if customers back out on an order will put them on their website in the "Specials" section for what ever is still owed on them.

They show quite a few for Remingtons on their specials page

When they get caught up on custom orders they also make up a few basic models for common rifles, but choices on these are few.

I've bought 3 of my McMillans at a substantial discount, and got it right now by watching the specials for something to come up that fit a rifle I had.

Every manufacture of anything desirable gun related is back-ordered.

Presidential election coming hording, and a sure to come Zombie Apocalypse is the reason.

Ruger has had to stop taking orders until they can catch back up on the orders they have.


Before you say add more help?
Manufactures are afraid to do that until all the health care bill proposals shake out, and they know how much a new employee will cost them over the next several years.

Even if they no longer need them after the election buying panic, but have to insure them for life under a new bill.

Kelly, High end custom stocks?? You should have looked at midway, They have a mixed in with the 73 pages they have & Stocky stock should have looked before running off at the fingers first. There in stock depending only on color for a rem SA standard sport barrel. Since you feel B&C is high quality check here at stocky stock alone.

Guess you should looked first. Even found other mcmillian rem sa stock though a listing at Longrangehunters forum list as specials.

Typicaly High End Stocks does mean wait for what you want for most of use. Production stocks aren't high end . Limited production high end like mcmillian . Yea, there's some out there just got to look for them too.

I would have suggested Midway too. Bought a B&C Medalist last year and made the mistake of ordering through one of their suppliers. Took 8 weeks, I was really unhappy to learn Midway had them in stock the whole time.

Not sure what you mean by high end but you should be able to find them somewhere.
