Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I think you hit the nail on the head when you compared it to the 1911 clones. The CZ-75 is a great gun all around and I think a lot of companies are trying to ride on it's coat tails of success. Also the companies making clones often upgrade the design. I see this as a good thing. There's quite a lot of variety in clones because of it.
