Why can people not leave it be

PT1911,

The Witness isn't offered in 357 Sig. I rechambered two 9x19 barrels for them myself. I also rechambered a .38 Super barrel to 9x25 Dillon for a Witness.

The only pistol I have that was originally chambered for 357 Sig is my XD, which is a tack driver.

Hope this helps.

Fred

Every hobby has it's fair share of asshats.I get the same thing from Harley guys. There is more than one gun or motorcycle out there.

Um hum, and half of them were out at the range today. I was next to two geeks who had their arsenals and brought their boys along. The one to my right had 5 different pistols and a crate of ammo in all different sizes. He had a Glock for the Glock fans and a KS2 (a Kitchen Sink, too) for everyone else. He saw me pick up my brass (I was working up a new load) and he immediately starting picking up all his and mine. I asked if he reloaded and he said no, but he was thinking about it. I told him mine were the cases with the red around the primers (thank god for that). To my delight his 12 year old boy outshot him consistently with both a pistol and a 22 rifle.

Yes, this hobby has its share of asshats and sometimes it makes a trip to a public range a bust.

Shoot what you enjoy shooting, do it as often as you care, and try to get better each time. There's always going to be geniuses and people who know better. Eventually you'll out-shoot them all.

He brought a Glock to the range, and he accidentally started picking up your brass before you corrected him. So, that makes him an asshat in your eyes. Are you being serious?

Fella's;

Call me Mr. Consistant. I didn't buy a Glock then, won't buy one now, and very seriously doubt I'll buy one in the future.

No real need to explain why either. My dollar, my choice.

Anyone who starts picking up your brass is a little spaced out, regardless of what gun they brought to the range.

IMO.

Don't mean to contribute to the fray, but yes, I'm serious...

Criticising you for not shooting a glock is kind of like thinking that i can't be a man cause i don't smoke the same cigarettes as you. they just can't get no satisfaction....

The person who said that glocks don't have a soul was right. Pure machinery, built with intellect, not love. I own 2 and they are just great firearms. But I NEVER take one out just to fondle it like I do my CZ75 or my 1911, or new Kahr for that reason. I could have a long fling with a Walther PPK, but never a Glock...

Glock is the Honda Civic of the gun industry. Cheap, utterly reliable, and entirely without character. In other words, an appliance. Nothing wrong with that, just not my cup of tea.
I was going to post in response to the original post, but once I read this I need not say more. I don't have any experience with glocks, I bet there not a bad gun at all. But I too have come across my share of glock snobs. I've been in the gun industry for some time, and have people that don't know that I know what I’m talking about give me the glock talk all the time. So I guess that my vendetta against the glock is more the people who endorse the gun that are just sheep to the slaughter. I’ll keep my custom HP and shoot against them any day of the week.

Oh yeah. . . .I get that crap all the time too. During bike week in OC, most of the guys sitting on the curb with there tool box out are the Harley guys. I just ride by and chuckle to myself.

How about, "I'm sooo disappointed to hear you say that about these guns. I bought them with the intention of giving them to you when I pass on."

I'd rather have a sp101 then a glock,, almost anything then a glock yeck, except that high point pace of $%#!

You think Glocks suck and whine about it. Great, you're just like your brother, just different taste. Also, you're in disagreement with thousands great shooters, including this guy:

I think this is just the attitude he is referring to.
Why is it a persuasion point that he is in disagreement with “thousands of great shooters”?

Glocks are fine pistols; I and thousands of other shooters just do not care for them. Glock fans seem to make it a point to tell us how wrong we are.

If you like Glocks fine, if I ask you your opinion then by all means let me know what you think. I do have issues when I do not ask, yet the fanboys feel the need to tell me I am wrong with my handguns choices.

And yes, I have owned four Glocks in the past.

Well I love the Browning Hi Power too, tiger. Good choice! A real sleek pistol and hard to beat in 9mm and 40S&W. But I won't bash Glocks, they have their place. I've never bought one but am impressed by Glocks. I did buy a Hi-Power though.

I'm a 1911 nut but I recently bought a Glock 27 and actually like the feel of it. When it comes to firearms diversity adds to the fun of it. It's nice to change it up at the range.

Your friend seems like the normal "mine is better" crowd. I have a relative that no matter what craptastic gun he has at the time is always better than all of my guns. I just let it go.

It is so true that people take their brand too seriously. People cannot be objective about the guns they own.

To me honest most shooters with proper training can shoot juts about anything with combat accuracy if they practice and train properly. It is all about the training and proper muscle memory development more than the platform IHMO.

That does not mean some guns do not fit some people better than others. It does not mean that some shooters shoot one gun better than another but in the end you can be taught or teach yourself to shoot just about anything.
