Why do people like Gunkid do it?

Hey, Pagosa Springs, CO is a nice little town if you stay far enough away from the hot springs (sulfur odor) area.

Good shooting and be safe.

Could you at least give us Coloradans some advance notice. Pagosa Springs is only about 100 miles from here.

Larry, all you have to do is hunker down behind your Tactical Wheelbarrow and cover yourslef with Mylar. Gosh, everybody knows that!

p.s. - personal curiousity question - Does the occasional magnitude 3(-ish) quakes that pop and crackle down around Raton produce enough motion to be noticeable in Pueblo? I've always wondered about that.

Do they mine for uranium in Pagosa Springs? Just curious about what's in the water.

No. Gunkid is directly related to firearms ownership.

Directly related in the manner that the people who own/operate this board hate his guts, deal with his tripe on a daily basis, and would like to cave his skull in. :)

I guess not. I've never noticed them.
Oh, c'mon ... Pagosa Springs isn't all that bad - at least after they finally got that truckload of chickens pulled out of the feed store
Isn't that a reference to C.W. McCall's 1970's CB song about Wolf Creek Pass? You (and I) are showing your age. :neener:

...which is exactly why I didn't ban him by IP yet. I think I'll just find a zealous individual and make him or her the permamnnt moderator of Gunkid. His or her sole job will be to keep an eye on him on various forums on the net and ban him with extreme prejudice if he ever shows up on our forums again...which he undoubtedly will, since he loves SHTF discussions and that is the basic theme of my boards.

Ah-hem. That would be the perfect job for me. :D Of the 112 private messages I have sent or recieved, about 1/3rd are in response to me outing GunKid in his various forms here. Over at GT I developed a reputation for this aswell.

I think my record over here was after his 3rd or 4th post, and he was banned within a few minutes. THR mods ban him quicker than mods at almost any other site.

ID'ing and outing Gunkid has become almost a sport for me, except it is almost too easy.

It's too bad I am not allowed to hunt him with a rifle.

I used to really enjoy the gunkid episodes on the old shooters board, and a few of the ones on some other boards, but then it got old when he started spreading it on thick under multiple names. Did he really sort of invent IPSC and shoot matches in Africa? Did he draw from his pocket? Has anyone ever ordered one of his how-to-make-a-silencer books and read it? Was he really the guy in the video selling coke to Delorean? Okay, I made that up. Did he really meet Mike Tyson in prison? Oops, there I go again.

He's fun to banter with as long as you know who you're playing with. Sort of like poking a stick through a fence at a barking dog.

How about the long-haired friends of Jesus in the chartreuse microbus?

If memory serves, C.W. McCall's real name was Bill Fries and he was the mayor of Ouray for a couple of years.

I think it would be kinda funny for someone with the know-how to create a "honeypot" gun forum and lure Gunkid into it. Have a few people start him going, then introduce an AI program like those "computer psychologist" ones with a few virtual personalities that answer each of Gunkid's posts. Let it run for a year or so, then come back and check on the results. :D

Wolf Creek pass? Thats way up on the great devide, right? Somewhere near the Old Home Filler-Up an' Keep on a-Truckin' Café. Where them crispy critters hang out. The leader was a space cadet...

I feel like I missed something since I either came along to late or just never paid attention to this guy. As for "why" they do it...if you could answer that one you would put alot of people in the mental health profession out of business. :)

Yes, well, let's just say that I chose the name as something to aspire to.

Whats wrong with furry...? (Wheres the big LOL smiley when you need it?)

NineSeven has a real nice forum though. Too bad people like gun kid feel the need to visit it.

And yep, IP bans can hit a big area. Happened to me once, for about a day, sucked, but the ban dissapeared (for another forum) and it wasnt meant for me (after asking a mod)

So hes a felon, eh? I wonder what for.

Wow, I remember this from several years ago, around 1999-2000. I can't remember the now-defunct board, but two characters named Bren and Bohica were members.

Dadgum masters' degree got in the way of my education.

Hey Larry, I'm 31 and I know that song.

"Wolf Creek Pass way up on the Great Divide,
truckin' on down the other side"

I've been watching for Gunkid for 5 years now. I've personally gone a round or three with him. I have some online buddies who'll mess with him for a couple of days... that's where I learned about the assault wheelbarrow and the canned .22 upper on the AR. Yeah, I recognize him too.

Dually pickup truck trumps wheelbarrow.
