Why do you guys let yourselves get intimitated by these retarded anti-gun bills by Democrats and some Bad policemen? They are bullies stand up and fight dont complain,do what they did in the prohibition era when alcohol was banned in the 20's only difference is get the guns anyway and have cops in your pocket and have a strong opposition to tattle tales.Do what the florida man did to those two cops who unlawfully entered his house and slapped cuffs on his wife for "obstructing justice" and hit them with a taser gun he gets charged with taking the officers taser gun and he still had to wait 8 days in jail before going to court and having charges dropped.

No better yet they should have been both shot, end of story a warning to any power hungry cops who want to abuse their power on a good citizen especially in their own house without a search warrant. You got guys and gals should be tough and not let these half wits ban your guns and if they manage too ban some of your guns bring hell to them elites and make promises not threats to make their life a living nightmare and that while the ban is in effect you will still have those guns and do what you want.I know one thing for sure I wont obey any law that takes my rights away and my right to defense I will fight and or make hell to them "elites" jail is not a option for me I will resist with deadly force until I am defeated by sheer number.Dont worry this wont happen now I hope, I dramatized parts of it to catch your attention.

Who is intimidated? Around here?

"when alcohol was banned in the 20's"

The 18th Amendment was passed in 1919 banning the sale of alcohol in the United States. Facts are important when making arguments and trying to sway public opinion. So is proper English grammar and punctuation.

You gotta learn how to relax, man. You're wound too tight. Pop a cold brew and watch a lesbian movie. Works for me every time.

Nice rant. Expresses lots of frustration. Doesn't do much for helping anybody's cause, though.

Proposed legislation is just that: Proposed. The whole deal with the political process is to align votes to your side insofar as possible. If you can't do that, you lose.

If we're losing in Congress, it's because we didn't get enough involved in the political process to get folks elected who are "our" people. Simple as that. Always has been. The anti-gun crowd, generally, is more active in politics than we are.

Once a law is passed, you're stuck with it. Few laws ever get rescinded.

Insofar as actual resisting the cops in a situation where you think you're right and they're wrong, you gotta make your own decisions. But chest-thumping on the Internet doesn't impress any of us. It mostly makes the poster look like a Keyboard Kommando. The Internet deal is that nobody can prove anything one way or the other, besides with the calm logic and rationale of an argument.

Now then: If somebody can figure out just what is the subject of this thread, please continue. :D

While I'm generally a stickler for getting the facts straight, I think you can cut him some slack on this one:

The 18th Amendment was passed in 1919 banning the sale of alcohol in the United States.

It didn't take effect until January 1920.

Now then: If somebody can figure out just what is the subject of this thread, please continue.

Hmmm, passive resistence?

Sorry I got mad its just sad how our rights are eroding slowly every year.
I just want to give you guys some ideas on how to deal with a bad situation such as more gun bans that will affect your life dramatically and bad police who **** with you even though you have done nothing.
Being assertive is sometimes the best answer to deal with a bad time such as what I said above.I just made this thread to give people a idea on how to deal with this possible event which will affect you anytime in the next few years.

So you think we've lost already?

I'm not willing to jump to that yet.

Sounds GREAT!!! BRB!:neener:

We are still fighting .. and I'm still buying 30 round mags!!!:)

Helly Officer, Guns? what guns? I don't have any guns. I heard they were illegal with the new ban and got rid of them all... Pile of upturned dirt, empty things of cosmolene, and the military boxes Sportsmansguide said I ordered? Well can't have an open flame can you? cosmo is an excellent accelerant, the cans make excellent holders for the fire and I bury the ash as fertilizer

Don't forget the felony he pled guilty to. Sentence was the 8 days he had served.

Diesel Man, open your mind...

You may be surprised at what enters and stays.

A firearm is NOT a "solve everything" tool. A lot of non-gun people seem to think that the guy with the gun will use it to fix everything, but that ain't the way life is. I know that it is easier, especially when one is not familiar with firearms, to assume that a gun is a multipurpose device, but that just isn't the way it is.

Do not stereotype.

Now playing: Sounds like Del McCourey....

You need to buy some bumper stickers that say "Come and get 'em", I guess. For me, I'll just communicate with folks, one at a time. I think most people have common sense, and so, I can convince them to vote against the antis.

Well, at least you're no "sheeple"!

I rather listen to a pro-Constitutional rant any day long, than to five minutes listen to some over-inflated tick, like Al Gore the Boar. Tell me, does Al Gore really believe what he says? I have heard of people who lie so often that they come to believe their own lies.

With the recent beating of a Chicago bartender by an offduty cop I am getting scared of police brutality.

Link to Thread which has been closed.

The fact that it is believed and the woman stated on the video taped interview that she has been harassed and threatened with arrest by her attacker show us that there is a problem with some police agencies. If you view the first video the CPD arrest the man and do not handcuff him? They want to charge him with a misdemeanor?

How come he is still working there and they want to move to fire him? They have a videotape but they still need to investigate? While she was on the ground and he was punching her, was that an official action? I dont understand why he is allowed to do this? There is another current thread where the 17 year old girl was maced because an officer accused her of stealing $10 from him in a drive-through window. Yet he kept his job. She was awarded $60,000.

I am sorry but I feel that we should hold officers to a higher standard as they are supposed to serve and protect us and they are employed by taxpayer dollars.

In Illinois I am not allowed to carry a gun to protect myself but the man in the above video is because he is a CPD officer. He has a history of substance abuse and was treated for it while working as a Chicago PD officer. Yet I am not allowed to carry a firearm and he is. I feel that if we are not allowed to be entrusted with weapons to protect ourselves but the police are then we should hold them to a higher standard as an armed man can do more harm than an unarmed man.

Here is something I think we all can do, and do often; it is actually something we have already started...We have to educate ourselves! We have to be able to articulate - instantly - WHY we are pro-gun; and be just as able to instantly defend that stance. We need to learn the history - the facts, the opinions, the rulings. We need to know the big picture, and the small details. Then, take advantage of the knowledge by posting at every oppurtunity on blogs, newspaper sites, email responses, polls - whatever venue is available. Of course getting angry is fine, I too take this anti stuff personally, but this reaction doesn't involve getting in firefights with the cops. As the Zumbo incident showed, the power we have now is tremendous! Doesn't it feel good to get your opinions out there, especially when they are backed (as they usually can be) by facts?..all without having to dodge incoming fire?

Yes - BE proud of being pro-gun, pro-freedom, pro-liberty, and pro-rights. Act like it! Get OUR views out there, and the more often the better. Do so whenever possible, in articulate, educated, and "high road" posts & letters. Don't just stick to preaching to the choir or to a friendly audience - we HERE know how we feel, and why! So get that message out to the rest - to the non-believers. Keep it in their face loud and clear and often until OUR position becomes mainstream again, until those who choose the cowardly, selfish and irrespsonsible way of relying on others are seen as the "nuts". Show them WE are "the people". Show them WE too are concerned about safety, and terrorism, and crime rates, and the children. Show them WE are normal parents, and husbands and wives and brothers and sisters and indeed were someone's kids too. Show them WE are of all races and both sexes. Show them WE are of all classes and all occupations and all backgrounds.

The antis have had a free reign for at least 15 years, but even they see the days of their lies going unanswered are over! Become educated, and then educate! BE AWARE of the numbers, as their mis-use is the favorite tool of the antis - understand that they mostly HAVE to lie or mislead to make their case; and so what better way to win a debate then postng FACTS pointing that out! KNOW ahead of time when they are BSing. Or know where to find the data to prove them wrong when you think they are. For that same reason do not lie or exagerate yourself - it is not necessary! This is why knowledge is so key. Whenever our views conflict with theirs, point out the facts, and explain WHY we see them our way, and why THAT view is THE "sensible" "reasonable" way of looking seeing things. Statistics can be wonderful, when they are on your side. This is not always the case though - so don't rely on stats alone - there is a time when common sense is enough. DO know though that for the most part, the facts ARE ON OUR SIDE.

Sure the antis messages are frustrating. How many times though can the likes of them have their misguided opinions withstand an onslaught of well-reasoned & well-backed responses? People DO read this stuff, read the ideas, and they SEE THE FACTS, and start thinking, just maybe, that they have been spoon fed a bunch of crap, and it is THEIR liberties, THEIR lives, and the lives of THEIR kids at stake, and no one else is responsible for them. The idea is to get us, and more importantly to get our guns, to be as...unsensational as they once were. We have to take back "the Right" to KBA. WE have to show it IS positive. WE have to show It IS necessary - now as much as ever. And most important WE have to show it is NORMAL - to want to defend your family AND your liberties, if ever necessary. It may not be too long before that view will be expected, and so accepted once again. I think that is an achievable goal, and is one that will really help preserve our right.

The time may come where it is not enough, for some it may have already passed. Then? What ever it takes...

And we need to be able to explain it inside of 20-30 seconds. So we need several different spiels for different situations.

And freedom, rights, the constitution, etc., don't matter, because they generally require explanation to the television-addicted ADHD population you're talking to. The goal is NOT instant conversion, because that doesn't happen. The goal is to make them think.

"I keep a gun because I'm concerned about my family's safety. You mean you don't? What if...?"

"I like to compete in organized events - why don't you come to the range with me sometime?"

etc., etc...

Yes - good points, Bogie!

And... be ready with attainable and realistic goals - "my reason for carrying is not necessarily to stop crime, but to stop crime against ME! If everyone else did that too, I do think crime will decrease." (And the facts back you up!)

And I'll once again natter away about starting some amount of involvement in the politics of all this. Write short, polite and articulate letters to editors and elected people, whether local or state or national. Send some amount of money to such as GOA or others of that sort. Work in political campaigns, whether stuffing envelopes, manning a phone bank or playing taxi for folks who'd vote as you would.

It's all about hearts, minds and votes.

Not intimidated! All I know is that when I want to take a drive to my favorite gun shop,I want it to be open when I get there. I also want it stocked with firearms of all kinds. I want the firearms industry to thrive, and not be regulated out of business... :)

Intimidated??? Well, when I watch a show on Dateline about a guy who was tried and put in prison for 10 years for doing something that was clearly self defense....

And when the courts seem to trust the word of the police over anyone else in most cases....

And when juries are so prone to letting emotions dictate their decisions (cop killer, dum-dum, armor piercing bullets, assault weapons, etc.),

It's hard NOT to be intimidated when new laws are passed and so many people are anti-gun in the first place!
