Why does SC not honor Washington DC CCW

If that were true, why was there concern when homosexuals from East Podunk went to MA after they legalized same sex marriage, got a marriage license, got married, then went home to East Podunk, and even though it was illegal in East Podunk, they had to recognize the legality of the MA wedding?

because east podunk (whatever that’s supposed to be an allegory for) recognizes marriages from MA? I mean this is not related whatsoever to anything.

The frustrating part of this is that DC, by refusing to honor the carry permits of all other jurisdictions, clamps off the reciprocity that would otherwise make the DC permit honored in other states. It's ironic that even after jumping through the many hoops to get the DC permit, it is neutered by the DC attitude that no other state does a proper job of issuing carry permits. That is of course not true, but DC wants to keep that choke point on permits so they can prohibit carry to a greater degree.

agrees plus take into account the time investment needed to apply for your DC permit and the fact it needs to be done in person. I wonder how anyone who doesn’t live here makes it work. Heck it’s hard enough to do it if you do live here and work a 9-5.

honestly some sort of nationwide reciprocity for concealed carry is needed. And honestly constitutional open carry would be nice too. If you look back at the history of requiring permits for concealed carry it makes no sense to require a permit for open carry as well.
