and elderly who can not rack the slide on the smaller guns? Is it because it is too weak in design for that size cartridge in a pocket gun. Beretta does make one in a 32 called the Tomcat.
snooperman: Why not a 380 pocket Tip-up barrel pistol for the ladies.. and elderly who can not rack the slide on the smaller guns? Is it because it is too weak in design for that size cartridge in a pocket gun. Beretta does make one in a 32 called the Tomcat.
Well, yeah I DID answer the question snooperman:snooperman: dogtown Tom, I understand that , but what about U.S .. companies that are not restrained by the import restrictions, such as S&W , Ruger , and others who make pocket pistols, Keltec, Kahr, NAA, You have not really answered the question at all. I think it would be a good idea and it would sell, judging by the remarks and complaints concerning the "racking of the slide" in such small 380 pocket pistols by women and the elderly.
Ruger, S&W, Kahr, etc can't make their pocket sized .380 fast enough. Why would they want to add a model or design that didn't sell very well for Beretta?Because the price and size of American made .380 pocket pistols has all but killed off the market for imported .380's. Beretta did make a .380 with tip up bbl but it was never a big seller.
The reason Beretta came out with a tip up model had nothing to do with the size of the gun but because blowback semi autos have a very strong recoil spring.snooperman at 24 oz and 7" long can hardly be considered a pocket gun. The reason the model 86 did not sell was probably because no one needs a TIP-UP gun that large because a small woman or elderly person has very little trouble racking the slide on most 380 pistols in that size range to begin with.
