I've got a 1968 3 screw Ruger Blackhawk 357 that I was gifted a while back. It was converted to have the transfer bar safety and the giver didn't have the original parts. I was shooting it the other day and would really like to have a wider trigger like my New Model Blackhawks have. I saw that if I had the original parts, I could use the wider trigger from an Old Army or Super Blackhawk. Other than trying to find a trigger shoe, is my best best to try to find a set of the original parts to pair with a wide Old Army/Super Blackhawk trigger? I'm concerned that if i just get a random set of parts, they won't necessarily fit/function well.

I'd appreciate any ideas anyone has.

That's what I was afraid of. I've been wanting a T-grip for my Ruger Security-Six so I just put an order in the mail with Tyler MFG for a grip for my security six and a trigger shoe for the old model Blackhawk. When I bought my used S&W Model 15, it had a Tyler trigger shoe on it and I really like it so I left it on even though the Model 15 trigger is probably wide enough for me. Thanks for the fast advice!

I thought I'd add to this thread by documenting my order to T-grips so people could get a feel for the timelines on delivery. I mailed a check on 12/17/21 for the following:
SIZE # GUN TYPE: MODEL/YEAR T-GRIP FINISH QUANTITY / PRICE $
# 8 Ruger Security-Six (150 series serial #) Shiny Black 1 - $36
# 8 Ruger Redhawk Polished Aluminum 1 - $40
TRIGGER SHOE SIZE# GUN TYPE: MODEL/YEAR Trigger Shoe FINISH QUANTITY / PRICE $
# 9 Ruger Blackhawk (narrow trigger, older model, all caliber), Flat Black 1 $35

They cashed the check on 12/30/21 and I'm going to give this small biz the benefit of the holidays and start the clock today. Based on their website, I'm expecting to get my shoe and T-grips mid to end of February..

Too bad it isn't original

Original smiginal! Original Three Screw Ruger Blackhawks have aluminum alloy grip frames and ejector rod housings that need replacing. And grips with those unsightly medallions inlaid in otherwise nice wood! As they coe from the factory, they do need much work!

Proper Ruger Blackhawk:

I got an old model Super Blackhawk square back grip frame with the wide trigger hole in it this week! I called Ruger and asked if they would send me a wide Super Blackhawk old model conversion trigger and the nice lady on the phone said she'd send me what they had, but wasn't sure if it was wider than what I currently have. I'll update this thread when I get it. I also need to find a set of grips, but that bit is the easy part.

Nope on Tyler's. I sent them a letter last week asking for an ETA or a refund if they can't provide an ETA. I had been texting them weekly for an update since April and no reply on those. Hopefully they will write back.

Well I found a Super Blackhawk old model conversion kit and was able to use the wide trigger in my 357. It actually tightened the lock up of the barrel on my revolver which was a nice surprise. I believe that's because it holds the hammer further back than the original trigger. Sadly on the T-grips order, I placed in December, they did not respond to my written and mailed letter so far.
