So 2 years ago I talked my wife into shooting a round of Prairie Dog Silhouette with my 10/22 LVT. 4 banks of 5 targets, (25, 50, 75 and 100yds) shot off a bench and timed. While she didn't want to embarrass herself and her time wasn't 'fast' she cleaned them and proclaimed 'that was fun'. and proceeded to post 1 of only 12 cleans shot that summer. So last year she shot several matches and posted several 17-19's. Late in the summer she again posted a 20. So this year I figured I'd set her up with her own rifle with a scope set to HER eye relief. Here's what I came up with. It already got a trigger stone and polish. Original was 5#10oz, new is 3#6oz. Auto bolt release and poly recoil buffer. Nedds some warm weather to sight it in. She LOVES the sleek straight wristed stock and lighter weight then my LVT.

I keep thinking I need a 10/22 again. This for sure brings that thought to mind, but if I get one I have to convince the marlin 60s not to gang up on it in the safe.

After I ordered it I realized it had a straight grip, hmmm, but wasn't gonna say anything about it to the wife. So I hand her the gun, she grips it and looks puzzled, and says "this is NICE, is it a woman's gun?" She thought the straight grip and thin forend fit her hands perfect. Being 2# lighter then the LVT was a good thing too. Guess I'm smarter then I thought. Just looking at it again, it is pretty sexy for a out of the box 10/22

It SHOOTS

Got out and sighted in the Classic today even though it was still kind cool out, 18° at 10:00. Had problems of the hammer not resetting on the second shot. Figured out I installed the hammer spring and guide up side down, there is a slight arch to it and it binds the hammer if installed up side down. Fixed that and it cycled perfectly with CCI MiniMags. Sighted in at 50yds, last two 5 shot groups, could be a good one.
