Will a Glock 21 barrel work in a G30?

I am interested in buying a 10mm conversion barrel for my G30. Problem is, I cannot for the life of me find anyone making or selling a ported 10mm bbl. for the G30. Lone Wolf barrels for the G21 are readily available, and cheap, so I'd like to go that route if anyone can confirm that it will work.

I believe Glock full-sized models and compact models have the same locking lugs (so that you could use a G17 barrel in a G19), but the lugs on the subcompact models are different (a G19 barrel wouldn't work in a 26). Problem is, the .45 Glocks don't abide by the traditional full-sized/compact/subcompact system, being offered only in two frame sizes. Well, there's the G36 but that's a whole different gun.

Anyone tried a G21 barrel in a G30, and can confirm that it works? I know it will stick out the front and look goofy, but the extra length should help with muzzle flash and velocity too.

You're correct about the G30 vs G36 barrels. I wanted an aftermarket barrel for my 36, but couldn't find one anywhere. Thought I'd buy a G30 barrel for it, but discovered that the 30 barrel is actually thicker-walled than the 36 and, I believe, does not fit in the 36 slide.

If I'm not mistaken, though, the 21 barrel SHOULD fit in the 30 slide just fine besides the extra length.

I'll await confirmation on that as well.

Big Negative on than man, i tryed to install my dads G21 barrel on my G30, seems that the locking lug and the recess where the recoil spring sets is a bit longer on the 21 barrel than the 30. It went on fine, but once the takedown lever got ahold of it, it took me and my dad both to get the slide and barrel back off. My advice...dont try it.

Interesting on the G21 barrel not fitting. Thanks, JW. I wonder how long those have been in production. I stopped looking for them over a year and a half ago probably.

Well, now I know. Might very well pick one of those up.

Huh, well that sucks that they won't fit.

Any idea why the 10mm conversion isn't as popular for the G30?

P02Hammer, thanks for the link but I'm not willing to pay $275 for a ported one.

Just found a Storm Lake ported barrel for $175, looks like I will probably be going that route. I still hate to pay $50 more than a LWD would cost me, but at least it doesn't have the tacky-ass cartoon wolf logo on it.

*edit: The Storm Lake barrel is made for the G30, for anyone interested in procuring one.
