Will a Howa 1500 action accept a trigger that fits on a Remington 700 action?

My title sums up my question, but I will add some more details for additional clarity.

I was looking on the Roedale Precision website for Howa 1500 triggers. The results under their "Triggers" section include about three different brands of triggers. The description for most of the triggers said "for Remington 700 and clones." Is the Howa 1500 action a "clone" of the Remington 700 action? If so, will a trigger that fits a Remington 700 also fit a Howa 1500?

To answer some inevitable questions and responses:
1.) I have no interest in having the factory trigger worked on by a gunsmith.
2.) I have already tried multiple adjustments on the factory trigger, such as multiple creep and pull weight adjustments.
3.) I have looked into Timney triggers, Jewell triggers, CG triggers. I do not care about a debate on which brand is better than which other brand; I only care about compatibility issues.

Trigger is intended for a Howa 1500 chambered in 308, with bull barrel; rifle has the factory Hogue brand polymer stock, the stock is getting upgraded in the future.

I would greatly appreciate any information available. Thank you.

My first thought is why do you want the new trigger?

Want it lighter and more ajustable for target work?

How light are you thinking of going?

Big Az Al: I want to change the trigger because the feel of the trigger that comes on the gun is of a very low quality. After some adjustments, I have it feeling much more acceptable, but not enough. So quality feel is my aim in getting a new one.

Looks like, according to the posts, that triggers for a Remington aren't going to work. I will likely look into getting one from Timney.

JohnGalt87,

Not to bust your thread here. A month ago I put a Timney trig on an older Rem. 788 rifle, the original was junk. This trig has made this rifle 1000% better. Not to try to convince you of a Timney, but this one is something to behold now, have it set to 36 oz's, shot a .366 MOA @ 100 yds a week ago, first time ever! JMHO

A Howa 1500 uses the same scope mounts as a Remington 700. Otherwise they are completely different rifles and a Remington trigger will NOT work.

The trigger as it is set at the factory needs a lot of help, I can't argue that.

But once you understand that detent plunger is THE safety, take the trigger a part, make the surface's glass smooth, set the travels, and then re-size that detent plunger to fit in the space left after adjusting the trigger, JUST MAKE SURE NOT TO GET the plunger UNDERSIZED TO WHERE IT DOES NOT PROPERLY BLOCK THE TRIGGER, then the trigger will no longer seem like junk!

If you happen to be in or near Tucson, AZ. and have a Vanguard, Howa or Smith&Wesson, that has the poor feeling trigger, give me a try,

I Know I can make these have a very nice trigger! as I have done several.
