The after-market options for grips on j-frames is huge (and can be cheap). Not so with the Taurus 94.
Will grips for the J-frame S&W fit the Taurus 94?
Thanks,

David

Not as they come, but I understand that they can be made to fit with some very minor modifications (such as removal of a pin that many grip panels have). It may be worth buying a $5 set of grips to see how easily it can be done, but I wouldn't buy a $50 set without knowing for sure I could modify them sucessfully.

Nope. While you can modify most types to at least stay in place, why bother?

Pachmayr, Uncle Mike, and at least a couple more make a style or two specifically for the small-frame Taurii. IIRC, most anything made for the M-85 family will fit. I have Pachmayr "Compacs" on my M-94, and switch them with a slightly larger, more 'square butt' looking pair from Uncle Mike's now and then.

They aren't particularly hard to find at gunshows or on the net, and are no more costly than models for the "J" frame S&Ws. While I haven't tried to find any wooden ones, I can't believe that no one makes a single model for the SF Taurus. There may not be as many M-85s, etc. out there as there are S&W "Js" , but there sure are enough of 'em for somebody to notice.

FWIW, if you don't insist on "fancy" wood or hand checkering, several of the custom makers will make you a pair in one of their standard patterns for about what a pair of Hogues in figured trim would cost. Try Eagle Grips for starters.
