Will someone make a more powerful handgun then the 500 smith?

I have a 4" 500 Mag and it IS a blast to shoot. Whatever you hit will explode or implode... something gonna plode!! Yep, shockwave to say the least. It is a toy but a very suitable hog or bear gun.

I sure don't believe I'd describe a .500 Mag (or any firearm, for that matter), as a "toy".

About the only thing you could do to make more power with out getting into NFA territory would be to lengthen the already long case to increase case capacity. I think if someone wanted to increase the power that would be the way they would go.

Isn't there a little issue about possible damage to the joints and nerves from a regular diet of such strong recoil?

I've seen a couple of threads where some folks mention that the doc said they can't shoot any more magnum rounds since they've already damaged their wrists and nerves. The occasional big bang is fine but I'd think that a regular exposure to such nastiness would result in long term damage.

I've seen lever rifles in both .460 and .500 Can't remember who, but it was semi custom and not very cheap.

I'l love a 94 type in .460 mag

Before they go any bigger in hand guns, they need to develop a medical procedure to install bigger hands. I think we have reached physiological threshold placed upon us by mother nature.

If you get a gun bigger than .500, what you gonna use it on?

Tanks?

Lions? Tigers? Bears? oh my:eek:
