Will there be a Gen 5 Glock?

XDs.....

I think the S-A line refers to the barrel length not the model type.
A XD 3.8 means a 3.8" barrel. A XDs .45acp 4.0 means a 4" tube. ;)
A 4.1 wouldn't make a lot of sense.

As for the Glocks, I shot 240 rounds out my LE trade in 21 .45acp pistol. It had 0 problems & the recoil/marksmanship were good.
I don't think Glock would need a gen 05 anytime soon. The new duel spring guide rod & modular backstraps seem to help.
I, too had a few hot cases fly all over, but I think it's a extractor issue or cycle design. I had no "stove pipes" or double feeds like a older Glock 21 .45acp I shot in the early 1990s on a rental range.

A big Glock 41 would be cool but Im happy with my Gen 04 21 for now. A Glock 30 gen 04 could be a great concealed pistol/2nd gun but Id lean towards a Shield in .40S&W.

It depends on what happens when Gaston Glock dies. He's almost 85 so it's unlikely he'll live to see another product generation

I'm not trying to be pedantic, but I wondered how long an 85 year old Austrian might live :)

Life expectancy for an 85 year old Austrian male is 91.1 years.

Gen4 launched in 2010.

GG born in July 1929.

If a Gen5 appears before August/September 2020, he might just live to see it.

Me? I hope he does. :)

I would like to see the following for a Gen 5:

1. Make it less blocky. In other words, how they do the front of the slide on the 26, for example, do that for all of them. They can even round the back a bit just so it isn't so angled.

2. Have backstrap options that remove the heal hump!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, have options for FDE frame.

Maybe he made extra versions, "like Michael Jacksons records" to be released after his death, or the "lost blueprints".

Rumors!...

I read a brief online rumor(just a rumor) that Glock USA might release a C or comp format gen 04 series. :D
I'm not sure how many C format Glocks really sold in the USA but that could be interesting.
Id consider a Glock 29C generation 04 but I'm not in a huge rush.
The Glock 23 .40S&W or a 27 gen 04 could be better.

of course there will be a Gen 5, Gen6, 7,8 etc.
They are in business to make money. Who in their right mind do not want the latest and greatest? It is human nature and companies are making a fortune from human desires.

Gen 5 will be three different frame sizes, in .25 Auto.

I recently sold a Glock 30 and was about to pick up the Glock S, But realized that it would indeed be a shame if they came out with a Gen4 "S" or a Gen 5. The #) has a Gen4, But it's not the "s". Anyone shed some light on this?
...

It almost sounds like we're talking iPhones here! Or maybe Glock will skip a generation and issue the Glock Vista then Glock 7 to fix Vista. :D

Seriously, I think it'll be quite a while before we see a Gen5 Glock but maybe with frames made in Smyrna, GA, changes may come faster. A rounded trigger guard would be welcome to many and possible with a US made Glock.
