I was looking at an old Wilson Combat pistol that a neighbor has the other day. It’s about 12 years old. I saw the test target sent with the pistol and since I had all of the ingredients I tried their test load and found it very accurate. It was a .45 ACP 200 grain #68 LSWC bullet and 4.5 grain of N310 powder at 15 yards. Is that still the load they are using in .45 ACP?

If you have a Wilson in 9MM, what is the test load they used for your pistol? I am also wondering if other high dollar guns come with test targets and what ammo/reloads they are using for accuracy and functioning tests. Can you share your information? I’m curious what they are using. I’m sure they are reliable and accurate enough for them to stake their reputation on and would like to try some of them.

I have two 9mm Wilsons. Both were tested with—5.2gr Power Pistol; 125gr Hornady HAP

One was 1/10/19 the other 10/22/18

In my 45ACP They used 4.8gr Bullseye w/200gr LSWC

Neither my Les Baer, Ed Brown, nor Alchemy had any type of testing data
Just verified what I already knew. The most accurate 9mm bullet I’ve ever shot out of my 9mm was the 125 grain HAP. And I believe it was .356 instead of .355?

I wouldn’t know. Yesterday, when I saw the test data, was the first time I ever knew of that bullet:) I had never looked at the data before.

I do know Wilson suggests breaking in their 9mm guns with 124gr for the first 1K rounds. I did that but since then have only shot plain jane 115gr RN—a good 10K out of one gun.

I’ve never found a bullet changes my accuracy for good or ill. Nor a differing load. I’ve had good days and bad days at the range. Maybe I should blame the bad ones on bullets not the shooter?

Thanks CQB45ACP. I’ve used the 4.8 grains of Bullseye with the 200 grain LSWC for the past 50 years and have always been happy with it. I wonder why and when they got away from the N310 load.

I have a couple of hundred 125 HAP bullets left, I’ll have to try them with Power Pistol. Will have to check and see if they are .355 or .356. I have used 5.0 grains of Power Pistol with RMRs 124 grain Nuke bullets and like it.

Any other test targets out there that have different load data on them?
