Saw a nice Winny 94 AE (30-30) going for what I thought was an absolute steal. Under $300... It was made in '89, so not anything a collector would be interested in; but also not made during the real crap era (from what I read) right after the change either. I figured if looking for just a shooter or hunting gun, that price couldn't hardly be beat. What do you guys think? Seems quite a bit cheaper than expected, no? Condition was good to very good, I'd say.
I know the AE means angle eject, meaning it was made for a scope, but this particular rifle still has a nice set of irons on it. Is that price anywhere near typical for a 94 from that time frame, in that condition? Seems awful cheap to me. At first I thought I'd be an idiot to pass a deal like that. Then I reconsidered and thought I really don't know anything about these guns. Never even shot a lever gun, much less owned a 94.... Figured I'd ask about it here.
