Hi,

I've got a Win Model 70 classic stainless in .300 Weatherby mag. with the BOSS that we've never shot. Time to to see how it shoots. I'm looking for the suggested BOSS settings for various .300 Weatherby factory loads with 130 to 200 grain bullets. Anyone know where to find that data? Neither the Browning nor the Winchester sites list recommended settings for the .300 Weatherby. With what Weatherby shells cost I hate to waste more shells than necessary to get this gun shooting.

Thanks!

I fully understand your situation, but ammo cost is the price you pay for shooting any cartridge with the "weatherby" name on it.

Btw: Shotguns ammo are called "shells"---rifle & handgun ammunition are referred to as "cartridges"

time to get busy: Buy as much ammo as your wallet can afford or locate a friend who can teach you how to reload that $$$ ammunition. Put rifle on a steady rest of some sort. Start with the lowest setting on the boss. Fire 2 rounds @ 100 yds. Fire pairs of ammo moving the adjustment up one notch at a time.

When you see a pair of holes the closest together---stop & leave the boss at that setting. If you change brands of ammo or start reloading them yourself, the entire process will need to be repeated.
