Anybody load the. I have some 230 gr JHP, and looking for some good loads.

5.5 Grs W-231 is hard to beat for a good all around .45 load.

AA #2, AA #5, WST, Competiton, Clays, WSF, all do well in the .45.

Use the FMJ all the time. They tend to be the cheapest of the fmj I can find. Seem to get reasonable results. I load them on the lighter side 230gr FMJ w231 5.0-5.2 oal 1.24 without issues out of a S&W 1911 5"

If you want to push them to the firewall, HS-6, Power Pistol, Unique, and AA#5 is how I fly. My current SD P220 loads are 230 Gold Dots, propelled by AA#5.

I load them with 5.8gr of Win 231 and a COL of 1.260".

My favorite

I use 230 gr FMJ/RN Horn bullets (not HP). I use 7.5 grs of AA#5. This works for me. The load says "BIG, Heavy and Slow" - - All the things that say 45 ACP! haha

Thanks fellas. I loaded up some with 6.1 GR of WSF, and they went off real good. Prety accurate too. I'm going to try some of the other powders and weights that some of recommended.
