Winchester 52B vs. Remington 40x 22LR,
Of these two rifles which do you prefer and why?
If you use a scope which one and why.

Looking for opinons on accuracy, collectability, & durability.

Would be shooting it in Rimfire League Competition, general plinking, & hunting small game.

Thanks in advance!

I have an early 52 and a Remington 40X.

The 52 is better for offhand shooting because the 40X is heavier.
Both are extremely accurate with good .22 ammo. The 40X likes Wolf Match Target. The 52 shoots Federal Gold Medal very well, and most anything with a 40 grain bullet acceptably.

I'm glad I have both, but could be happy with either.

I have an old eight power scope on the 52 and a Simmons 8-32 on the 40X.
I don't use the eight power much, it's small and dim compared to modern scopes. I shoot .22 benchrest e-mail matches with the 40X, so the 32 power setting on the Simmons gets used a lot.
