i have been working on a old winchester 97, it was made in the early 1900's.
i have been able to remove the stock, magazine tube and most of the small parts, but how would one go about removing the trigger group, bolt and barrel?
i would assume, because the magazine tube as partial threads, like a howitzer breech, it is the quick detach style, and this also means that this 97 is a takedown model. am i correct?
also, a part has broken inside the action, and the piece that has broken has either obstructed or jammed the shell elevator or bolt
here is a link that shows the broken part, it is number #30

any 97 guru's out there? i have performed many repairs and custom work on firearms before, but this old shotgun has me stumped...
its simply "too old" any any repair manuals out there dont tell much. i would love to get this old workhorse running again
many thanks.
