I was confused when I saw the stamp on the receiver of one of my Battery's marksman's M14 EBR, it is in fact Winchester... With a stock on it that probably costs as much if not more than a brand new M1A, with the same function (it isn't select-fire).

Exact rifle mentioned is pictured:

I cant find any photos on the net of the stamp where it says:
US RIFLE M14 and so on, I'm gonna have to find the dude again and post it on here..

But my main objective with the thread, I was a gun nut since I was 14... And I never had any idea Winchester had (and has) their hand in the classic M14. Mind Boggling. lol

Winchester was one of the manufacture’s of the M14. To a degree Winchester’s manufacturing of the M14 was problematic due to deficiencies in their manufacturing abilities basically antiquated machinery.

All manufactured M14 were capable of select fire. What was required (Terminology Probably Not Correct) a connector and selector lock.

I was issued a Winchester produced M14 rifle. To this day I can still recall the serial number.

Greetings,

I know you must have heard that 1000's of times, but thank you for your service (And all the other active and retired servicemen) ! It is guys like you that make possible for me and my family to live safe (and free before the communists took power).

About that rifle: What kind of MOA do you get? Does the stock make a huge difference in accuracy or is it just for the shooter's comfort?

Thank you

Hey disturbed,

I sucked at fighting once too. Stay safe and make it back to muddy ol' Lewis! Sweet DMR you got there!

There were four m14 manufactuerers, Springfield Armory, Winchester, Harrington Richardson, and Thompson Ramo Wooldridge.
I too would be interesting in knowing how it groups.
And thanks for serving too.

Winchester made M14 rifles for the Military...

Fixed that for you. :)

The selector switches on all of the EBR M14/M21 rifles I've heard of have been welded, but yes, they were all originally built/designed to be full-auto capable.

Nice stick you got there. Rock on.

Nice M14 in a Sage EBR stock, that stock goes for about $800.

Thats a very nice set up, if I got a 14 I'd build one just like it.

High ready with that = massive arms. Nice thing to have in a pinch, though!

Do up drills with a 240, and then the M14, even with all that "if we make it heavy enough maybe it will stay accurate" stuff on it will seem like a walk in the park . . .

The Mk 14 Mod 0 in the Sage with the 18 in. barrel is supposed to be in the area of 11 pounds. I would expect the setup pictured (not a Mk 14, but similar in concept and design) to run 13 pounds or so unloaded (maybe a little more depending on the weight of bipod), and in the neighborhood of 15 pounds loaded. This is certainly heavier than your average poodle shooter, but it is a lot more rifle than your average poodle shooter.
