Good day!
I Have a Model 1200 Winchester 12Gauge Pumpaction.
Bought in 1992. been friends eversince. About 2 years ago the slide that cocks the gun to put a new shell in the chamber broke. Now, being in South Africa we dont have the available spares. What will be the best way to fix the slide or would it be possible/better to buy the part new and get the it mailed here to SA?
i want to get my gun fixed as i want to have my son use it as soon as he is old enough.

Winchester went out of business in late '05 early '06.The gun is now manufactured by FNH.An American subsidiary of FN of Belgium.Parts cannot just be shipped to you.Anyone who would export parts needs to file a bunch of paperwork. Can't you find a gunsmith who could fix it in SA?

I've been trying to get it fixed for the past two years now. No one can garuantee the repair will work very fine welding/braizing on a part that moves alot. New parts here are also non existent. This is the part

Thought that it doesn't look like a gun part and could be mailed to SA marked Left front Shock cover and Right front Shock cover as i want to get 2 of them at once. but ig you say that there will be a lot of paper work involved, i would rather then wait for somone i know that will be going to the US to bring them back for me.

Have a professional TIG welder fixture & weld the action bars to the fore end tube instead of the factory spot welds.
Heat sink/purge the tube.
Done.
Welded 30-40 in the last 10yrs.
